I love Nerf blasters because they're really easy to take apart and modify. If you're not sure how to modify the internal mechanisms, there are roughly 10,000 videos on KZbin on how to safely mod Nerf blasters of every type, ranging from just painting the exterior to major modifications like changing the Mega blasters to accept the standard size darts to all kinds of crazy mods. Plus, if you're afraid of screwing up, you can find older models like the Maverick and Recon at pretty much any decent thrift store or garage sale for dirt cheap, as well as in varying conditions on Ebay. Also, the different blaster lines (like the Mega and Zombie Strike series) really lend themselves to being modded into sci-fi or Steampunk weapons, depending on the style.

Thanks for all cool tips.

Hey, it's the least I can do to try (pathetically) to repay you for all the cool videos! (Yeah, like that could ever happen! -_^) Oh, and on the subject of Nerf modding, here's one from my roomie Derek: as you remove the screws from a nerf blaster, take a spare sheet of cardboard, trace the outline of the blaster you're disassembling onto it, and punch small holes into the outline in the same places as the screws you remove, then put the screws into the corresponding holes so that it's easier to put them back in the same places you removed them from.

What I like to do to weather guns is to paint the gun with a base coat of silver after the primer. Then, after I've painted the black, or whatever color on top, I then lightly start sanding away at edges, and any other area I want to expose the silver, with some 0000 steel wool. I find that this gives me a lot of control over how much of the silver I want to expose, both in terms of area and amount, so I can have areas where the silver is only just starting to show and areas where it's fully exposed. I've also found that using 0000 steel wool over the cheap Home Depot semi-gloss black spray paint (which is really glossy actually) dulls it down to a nice, proper semi-gloss and does a pretty good job at replicating the blueing found on a lot of guns. The only down side is that it doesn't allow you to get small recesses, so those areas will still have the original finish, but everywhere else looks great though.

This may sound kind of sick and evil, and I wouldn't recommend doing it, BUT, with a little extra (and perhaps PERVERSE) INGENUITY, you could turn this toy into a pretty DANGEROUS and REAL weapon! I don't imagine it would be all that hard to install a real, circular saw blade, into this "toy", and it wouldn't be a "toy" anymore!!

Lol that was great! Very entertaining and very enlightening! You guys are great together you should make more videos together. 8:57 That's beautiful! 9:04 Now it's ugly side.... lol 12:10 How Dare You! lol I can't help but ask because I've bought several painted Nerf guns, however I don't think they are sealed...So do you think I could spray them with something like Krypto without jamming the parts or do I need to take the entire gun apart?
@neilperry22246 жыл бұрын
Don't you think the combined shoulder stock/ammo storage is rubbish. They are always loose or the stock is poorly designed. How about using 3D design software to re-design the storage/stock more true to life.
