D’Angelo Russell. 2018 NBA All-Star. Finished as the runner up in NBA Most Improved Player voting. Russell went from 2nd overall pick to 2nd fiddle in Kobe Bryant’s farewell tour to primary option on a young, seemingly stud filled Laker lineup, to getting shipped to Brooklyn when Magic Johnson didn’t quite see his value (he is ONLY 23 right now). Yes, he was a head case, but whatever Kenny Atkinson and his crew have managed to do with DLo in his 2 seasons with the Nets has been nothing short of remarkable. He has helped Russell remind people of the tantalizing talent he is simply by being proficient and professional both on and off the floor. His early career was tainted in Los Angeles, but here he stands, the lone NBA All-Star (shout out to Caris LaVert, who looked to be headed to the All-Star game himself before he went down with an early season injury) on a team that has made the playoffs after years wandering the desert.
Basically, DLo is one of the drippiest players in the league, and his moves are so damn smooth that I had to make a video about it. There’s a lot of debate about how his game has gotten better and more precise, but I have heard it be argued that maybe he just made more floaters this season compared to missing a bunch from seasons’ past…to that I say: this season was a great season for DLo and we’ll just have to wait and see if he can continue to perform at this new All-Star level.

Although D lo is not explosive and strong, he is good at change of tempo to create space for many layups. I think he learnt a lot from James Harden.

He feels like his moves are do-able for us regular people Him and Luka are heroes for regular folks 😂 Obviously they're very tall and coordinated, but they don't have bounce or speed Just skills and great tempo 👍

I know I’m in the minority here when I say the Nets should re-sign D-Lo over signing Kyrie. Kyrie failed miserably leading the Celtics this past year and repeatedly threw his teammates under the bus. The Nets have their chemistry with Russell already and he’s three years younger and still has room to improve.

The situation that D'Lo was in last year was as close to perfect as it gets for his individual success. Shooters, a hard roll man that is a lob threat and unlimited freedom. Now, imagine Kyrie in that same type of environment. Kyrie is a way better player than Russell, and Irving will still most likely be in his 'prime' for 2 more seasons.

@@tagtheroller "Shooters"? You mean a shooter. Joe Harris was the only above average shooter on Nets. Everyone else was below 35% from 3pt and Jarret Allen is coming along but he's nowhere close to Horford yet, inside or outside. Celtics roster is way better minus Kyrie or dLo with Nets. Must think you're talking to amateurs. Kyrie is a better scorer than Russell though

@@exillens Kurucs, Carroll, Dudley? Volume matters, that's why nobody is guarding RHJ from out there. It's the regular season, teams aren't ignoring poor-meh shooters as much they would in the post season. Kyrie is a way better scorer than Russell.

@@tagtheroller Now let's contrast Celtics main shooters Tatum 37% 3pt Hayward 36.4 3pt Horford 36% 3pt Rozier 35% 3pt Brown 34.4% 3pt You don't have to be a mathematician to see Celtics had the better shooting cast by far. And a "way better scorer" doesn't get shut down to 35%fg against Eric Bledsoe in the playoffs

The way DLo beat Rodney Hood who's a good defender off the dribble with no pick at 2:30 is why he'll be a superstar. Same way he was giving it to Pat Beverley when he dropped 32pts against the Clippers

I wish. He has his highs and lows. With his recent performances I am still concerned with how he can grow but I really want him to get better and be better than even last year. I really do think he is a great player and it is sad he gets a lot of shit even ater last year. He really has the talent he just needs to work on his weaknesses and wisen up his game.

If D lo could do this more he would be honestly so much better. As a Nets and new recent D lo fan it still is tough seeinghim gone. But I also am not blind to his mistakes. D lo outsisde his defense and driving ability can do what you want in a PG in todays league. He has the talent to pass, shoot the three at a decent rate, and has a midrange jumper that elite scorers have. It just sucks he cannot drive more. I really hope he can be a decent finisher when it is all said and done, because if he can even be decent, his ceiling can be so amazing. I just look at him play, he just has it. It sucks cause Dinwiddie and Levert are great players, but to be honest, I get jealous even now cause I feel D lo can be better than them if D lo could be more agressive at the rim than them. He has the talent to play, I personally see it but he needs to improve his weaknesses and play smart. People keep saying he is so similar to Harden, but for me the guy literally can be Cp3 and Steven Nash. He can be such a smart player and be a mix of old school and new school PG. He has had a decent year right now, but still feel he hasn't done enough. He has looked to be more agressive at the rim this year, but he hasn't been consistnet yet. Even if he can't finsh well, I just hope he keeps attacking. All that matters is he can try and push the pace cause it would make him so much better than lots of PGS in this league.

I want to see when Atkinson tries to coach Kyrie after he misses a rotation on defense or shoots a couple bad heat check shots and Kyrie not feeling like hearing it from a coach with no rings he doesn't respect. Get your popcorn
