Been a warriors fan for thirty years, here's all I'll say about Dlo's finishing at the rim. I remember when Klay Thompson was 23 years old. I remember when Steph was 23 years old. Neither one of them could finish at the rim for CRAP when they were that age. We used to call Klay's horrific attempts at finishing at the rim "Klayups". Both players got OLDER, and as they got older, and physically stronger and reached their athletic primes, the issue went away. Same thing will happen to Dlo. Remember, he's in GS for 4 years, he'll be 25, 26 and 27 during the back half of that contract. He will improve finishing at the rim, as he matures and gets stronger. 23 year olds used to be one year removed from college.

None of the elite guards can guard the other so defense is not as high on the list as back in the 80's and 90's and early to mid 2000's. It's an offense driven perimeter Player dominant league. Russell outplayed or held his own against Lilliard, Kyrie, Walker and other elite guards. Steph is a liability on defense but his offense makes up for it. It will be the same with D-LO who's only 23. D-LO can be a 25-7-5 Player as evaluated by the great Jerry West.

This season, I don't think the Warriors, and Brooklyn, are title contenders. 😮 Both are missing elite players for the year. 😓 This is the perfect time to train DLo into the Warrior's ways. Likewise I think Kyrie should start learning to distribute better whilst KD is away, instead of trying to iso ball the Nets to victory. 🤔 DLo needs to practice both getting better at 3s, and lane finishing, and also getting Klay movement. Then when Draymond is running with the ball, DLo gets wide open looks. This isn't a tanking year for either team. But forget trying to win it all, don't injure your remaining stars, and get everyone trained for Klay and KD returning. Then next year they'll be in great shape to beat the Clippers, or whoever is the reigning champions. 👍

@willhooke5 жыл бұрын
I suppose the could have been a takeway line included. How I understand what he has said is this: Sort Of. DLo is quite good for the Warriors, but not good or very good. Top 50 means DLo is a good player. But not necessarily an instant iWin choice. He will need to improve this season. And that is fine, as the Warriors probably aren't going to win the Championship this season. So this season is a "renovate your own Shooting Guard" whilst waiting for Klay to heal. And then getting all the new "others" groomed into the Golden State system. The Warriors were deep before KD. They traded that to get KD, and got 2 Championships in the process. Now both that Deep Bench and KD are gone, and Klay is off for a year. So this is a rebuilt year for the Warriors. :) They probably need another good player to join them this year or next, to have a chance against the Clippers. IMO :)
