I've had my 2008 MR since 2012, it had a couple of years off the road waiting for an engine rebuild but I've always daily driven it, it's had baby seats, boosters etc, and it's generally been a great family car. It's now back on the road, and other than the timing chain failure at 290,000km it's been virtually problem free. Best car I've ever owned by a long shot. Mine is nearly at 300,000km, and has been making 400hp and 550nm for around half that. The only major problem I've had was a timing chain failure at around 290,000km that could have been avoided if Mitsubishi had thought to program in a specific warning (instead of an exclamation mark in a triangle that told me that something needed attention, but not what exactly). Still, it was a good excuse to do a complete engine rebuild. I've been religious about servicing it every 10,000km, and I'd recommend changing the SST fluid every 30,000km, more often if you can afford it. Mine is a 2008 model, and it's still on its original clutches. Like Jackson says, look after it and it should look after you. Happy motoring!

@JacksonStrain2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't run away as the main thing is how it's been treated, if the car was always warmed before thrashing it and driven with sympathy when cold then it could he fine for years to come. As the evos get older and mitsu looks more and more like it’s going to stop building cars in america…I wonder if it’s a good idea to buy one after I finish college in 3-4 years. I was so specific about how I maintained mine
@JacksonStrain2 жыл бұрын
I think they will definitely hold their value or continue to go up over time so buying is a good idea, parts can be found as lots of them built so many cars being parted out. As for the SST I'd buy one assuming youll have to rebuild it at some stage so budget around 5k usd and send it to Kozmic motorsports if in the U.S and then it eill last another 10+ years
