Great explanation, I love this game and it is a much improved version to the first generation, where only the last turn could give you points. This way, with collecting the food also of extinct species, there is much more balance throughout the game and different strategies may help you to win.

I love it too :) not only it's super beautiful and it's about evolution, I like how you can interact with other players too and change your strategy depending on the occasion.

this is really well done. I'm getting my copy in a few days. how would you suggest to set it up in a 2 player game to make it as enjoyable as possible? thanks!

:) thanks a lot . You can keep the set up same as here, just shuffle the deck of trait cards well then remove half of it. It would also be better if you have a limit of 3 traits for each of your species (instead of 4) and finally since you will be only 2 players you can take it a bit slower if you want and take turns while you play cards in phase 3. Enjoy :D

Doesn't the way the feeding phase works give advantage to the first player given they can take as many resources as they want until it runs out compared to the ones at last who have to just get scraps?

Hi :) actually nothing has changed as far as i know at least since the game has come out in 2016. I purchased mine in 2017. If you have the basic evolution game, i know that north star games ( you can find the link in the description) has a conversion kit, that one can easily add the climate expansion :) . The updated rules refer to the fact that they are up to this date (2018) since it could be that in the future they may change/add versions or so thus i added it in order to avoid minor possible future confusions :P

Great video, I noticed that your copy has the icons on the cards that activate as the food cards turn. My copy doesn’t have those, I have the climate edition.

Hi may I ask if there is a negative number for the food round and there is existing food in the watering hole do you take away the food from the watering hole or just ignore adding any food?

Yes that is correct ... You add or remove (if there is any left from previous rounds) plant food to/from the watering hole :)

You just said that each player goes through each phase of the game all in one turn. But you also said that each player takes turns feeding their populations getting one at a time. Which is it?

Hi Maria 😀the players go through each phase together (you can also do it one by one which is a bit more strategic but takes a bit more time if you are more people).the feeding phase though must be done one at a time for each species and per player, so during the feeding phase you take turns and feed one of your species until everyone is done 😸
