Worth mentioning one detail: GTA IV has two types of cops, fat cops and lean cops. fat cops are just like in the video, limited to an slow jog and get tired quickly. Lean cops in contrast, sprint at the same fast running speed of the player and have infinite stamina, making almost imposible to outrun them.

7:26 In Vice City Stories this is a problem, because you get tired quickly and then, you run out of stamina, and the cop can keep up with you, trying to attack you with his baton and Victor dodging the attacks, but you end up having high chances of being Busted because of that because, the cops in Vice City Stories never get tired, and they take time to disappear. Maybe the same in Liberty City Stories.

In VCS too, cops are pretty violent. They attack even when victor executes the entering animation into a vehicle. Due to this, most of the times, the cop will chop off the door, resulting in a guaranteed bust In LCS, I ain't really sure, but they don't attack you when you execute the entering animation If you want a very easy way to get rid of them, jump on top of a vehicle. They'll switch to pistol, and, sometimes, they'll take cover, giving you enough time to run away

The thing is, Victor and Toni are way slower than Claude and Tommy. And for some odd reason, R* made the cops even FASTER than VC, so the result is that LCS and VCS cops walking speed is almost the same as Victor/Toni's running speed, which is a problem.

That seems to be how their AI is programmed. Basically, when there are multiple cops near you, the closest one will give a foot chase, while the rest will just casually walk away. You can literally switch up your pursuers as much as you want. You won't ever see two cops chasing you, with the exception of police vehicles

You can drop cops by running regularly in the HD Universe games, no need for sprint. It just takes a bit longer. Pretty sure that also applies to IV, since the vast majority of officers are fat and slow.

Physics were added since GTA3 cuz when you crash your car it gets damaged. Sa evolved those physics, and also adding boxes, wind, etc. And GTA IV added realistic physics to the characters and npc's.
