Excellent history on Max, he’s one of my favorites in the Mickey Mouse universe and it really stinks that he appear less and less in media, but I’m very happy that he’s still got a very dedicated fanbase. Max was a creation of the 90s and his "Extreme Teen" design practically screams that. However, they can certainly evolve him to meet the times. But he kinda doesn't work without being Goofy's son. It's kinda like Gohan from Dragon Ball Z: He will always be The Son in the shadow of his more famous father.

First of all, congrats on becoming a dad! Second, love the video! My sister and I grew up watching Goof Troop, and my family and I had seen A Goofy Movie, when it was first released. All parents and teens should see it, especially since communication between generations can be difficult. Anyway, I also remember seeing the George Geef shorts, on the Disney Channel, as a kid, where Goofy Jr. had made his first appearance. However, we didn't see An Extremely Goofy Movie, since my sister and I were older, when it was released. We also hadn't seen the Goof Troop Christmas special, and we hadn't seen any more recent reiterations of the characters, over the past twenty years, although I do remember seeing Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas, but that was about it. By the way, the characters didn't really lend themselves well to CGI. Also, Issac Carlson had mentioned in one of his videos that the reason why Roxanne didn't appear in that special was because the animators had found her hair too difficult to animate, so they gave Max a new girlfriend, Mona, although some suspect that she was really Roxanne in disguise, working for the FBI or something, but I don't really buy it. Anyway, thanks for the video!

Goof Troop was one of the few Disney shows I liked at the time it was on. Most of the shows I catch up to after they’ve ended. I always liked Max, and I hope he never falls into obscurity.

I feel like we could revive max as a character by doing something akin to recess and camp lazlo. Have the whole series be a young max sent to a summer camp, where he bonds with a group of kids over a mutual band they make and perform with. Could all be original characters, with some cameos from other characters (like maybe chip and dale as a nuisance on the camp grounds) and it could be another ducktales. Would just need good writers to make a good episodic show.
