I don't get how Stronghold Legends isn't everyone's favourite stronghold. It looked the best and was personally the most fun. There's a cap on the number of troops you can produce but I'd use gargoyles and keep converting enemy archers and expand my army indefinitely. It was so fun.

For me the issue with that game is that the single-player is very lackluster. Online/with friends it's great, but in singleplayer there's very few AI to choose from (only 6 comprising the whole roster, which is even more insulting when you consider the fact that you encounter 2 other fully voiced AI amidst the skirmish trail mode, yet can't play against them in custom skirmishes) and the AI design/skill level is quite weak--also, in 4 player free for alls, the AI tends to team up against the player even if they aren't formally assigned to the same team, which is annoying.

Stronghould, Stronghould 2, Stronhould Legends, Stronghold 3, and Stronghold Kingdoms take place in western Europe. Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold Crusader Extreme, and Stronghold Crusader 2 take place in southwestern Asia. As for Stronghold Warlords is in Eastern Asia.

stronghold crusader is best strategy game ever. because you can build fast, army train fast, fights fast, mechanics so easy to play,simple menu,you can use everything so simple. but other strategy games are so slow. in stronghold crusader, you can build your castle in 3-5 minute. and you ready to war. but other strategy games , you need upgrade everything for war. its means 30 minutes need to war. thats why stronghold crusader is best.

The best one is Crusader 1, but i wish there would be some features added. I miss few buildings from Stronghold 1. Also there should be some auto market to sell resources and keep some constant value, its annoying to sell it manually when you build huge city. Some buildings should have upgrades, or merge to produce more like stone pit, iron mine, bakery, shrine, inn, of fear factor buildings. Religion factory has too low impact, so it should be increased. I would also add stances to units, so knights could move slower but increase their protection etc. Nowadays even some ai that could help us organize huge battles or sieges would be nice, so you could focus on it when you only want it. Honor system from stronghold 2 or legends was good too.

Jadi kalau seandainya saya bisa buat game disisi pengembang yg di update dari segi detailnya resolusi dan penambahan efek debu, percikan air, api, dan penambahan peralatan bangunan, pertanian, pembuat senjata atau karakter dan penambahan perintah agar pasukan bisa menyerang berlari tidak menjadi satu jalur tapi mempertahankan barisannya dll. 🎉

At the beginning of the game, you're running out of wood, and then you need to make a lot of money shortly to make an army to defend your castle. It's a good game, I used to play it, but there isn't any logic when the computer is against you. It will build its castle and make a big army with some katabolts, and when you defeat it, it will come to you with a bigger army in a short time. I don't know how can it get all the money needed for this 🤔.

Firefly studios, it's simple. take the campaing of the first stronghold and make a game that "simply" plays as the campaign with emergent gameplay. simulated counties, travel times to siege other player's castle, and a deeper approach to the economy, i was always pissed that buildings simply pop up when you place them. who is making the ropes to make the lifter? and the nails? what about pottery? why hunters overhunt without care? all limitations of the oldest Stronghold, limitations of its tech engine that now can be easily addressed. i saw a lot of good ideas like theese put into test in different games. now i didn't played warlords but i fear it won't be, like any other game after crusader, what i expect it to be like. the structure itself seems kinda what i mean, but it's realization seems off target to my expectations; expecially in the economy side. i am a madman and i want to have counted arrows for my troops. not enough fletcher? no more bolts. but this is what i personally expect. i consider also Firefly point of view, maybe it even do not wanna have stronghold's legacy on its shoulders. but they have it nonetheless. nowdays, strategy games are SLOW BURNERS. and i really wish they could understand the massive void the playerbase is feeling without a true successor of the castle / siege sim. it's a goldmine waiting to be dug up. it won't sell 10k copies in the first day, or it probably will if it is on scope with the expectation of the community, now starved of a masterpiece.

I absolutely loved old Stronghold 1, I played also Stronghold Crusader which was also very good, but too easy. But then Stronghold 2... it had potential to be also as great as 1st one, but the game felt unfinished. Knights were totally overpowered, skirmish was unplayable because AI was too stupid, they had unfinished castles and their attacks were poor (as in Crusader, but at least their AI quite worked). I did not played any other stronghold after that :-(

they ruined a bunch of games trying to improve graphics. like Desperados or Aoe3. I feel like strategy works best with isometric 2d. Something like Ck3, is fancy and all but a map could look like a flat map and I would still enjoy it, old games focused on content. Even FIFA 2003, 2004 was bad, despite looking much better, only 2005 was better looking and playable. With sports is different I guess, on a big timescale it wouldn't matter but people who like gameplay would choose a roster update over an engine update. But Aoe2 was revived for that reason, it was much better than the next games. same goes for Stronghold. I never really got into it, because it looked so much worse, while trying to look better and nothing else.

Me two, I've waited for an upgraded medieval europe that brings the charm of stronghold 1 which I fell in love with, sadly, it never happened, it's been 20 years. Kingdoms seemed to bring some hope but nah, esp when the village and castle are split like that, what a pity

I like crusader more because the grassy area itself becomes a resource of sorts so it is way more competetive.

The original Stronghold is easily the best game in the series imo. Stronghold Crusader was also great. Went downhill after that unfortunately :P.

Stronghold crusader stands out at the best because it's visually simple Every building/unit is designed and colored distinctively regardless of lighting which allows them to be located much easier compared to other games It's realistic on how everything works but fictional on how they look which is the best combination in my opponent

After Crusader they could never really recapture the magic of this series. A shame, they're superb games, one of a kind, and still hold up amazingly to this day in terms of graphics (the 2D sprites aged like fine wine), music, sound and playability.

Crusader is definitely an all time favourite of mine. But I must say I enjoyed Legends a lot too... Very entertaining in my opinion.

Ok firefly, this is what we want in Stronghold Warlords: -Please make it a more gritty realistic looking instead of this cartoonish mobile looking game, please use less colors or at least use darker shades of the same colors -Please make it 2D instead of 3D -The space button is RESERVED for the lowered walls look like in Stronghold Crusader for nostalgia's sake, make any other button enter the Warlords screen. -Please NO unit squads/grouping like in total war, please make each unit produced as an individual unit (like in all old school RTSs) -The warlords system is iffy, reminds a bit of the estates system from Stronghold 2, not 100% on board for that one, might be better to scrap it and not take risks. You already experimented with similar systems like this in other titles and it was a feature most people did not want. Please, listen to your fans. Look, you already have the winning formula, the most legendary and successful titles are Stronghold 1 and Stronghold Crusader, we want a game with those game mechanics just in a new setting with the same graphics/look/atmosphere/gameplay but just slightly improved (for example like that new mechanic you put in of being able to chose whether single units can destroy walls or not. Btw. Good job on that one! That was a good choice.)

The first is the best.. its not all about grafhics...the music was amazing and it got you a lot in the game. a lot of details that denote love from the creators in what they did. for example: depending on the country where you're from, you played the campaign map with the map of that country. Quality is in the small details

None of them is really like the first version. The same beautiful graphics, beautiful land, and beautiful European environment I wish you would increase the possibilities of the first version and continue it. Especially the king's towers are very beautiful and the king himself is very beautiful in the first version.

Stronghol 1 cause of the story, soundtrack and atmosphere and cruzader for the it all ❤️, I dont know how many hours of my life were spent playing this... Warlords seens to be good!
