Got 2019 with non X controller, changed bar, Sprocket (54T), chain, lowed pegs, got some better pegs, better breaks, sealed the wires under the motor with Molykote DC 4 an some shrink tubes, changed grips and now, I think I'm gonna go with 72v42A, 20kW. Nice vid, I didn't know much about the history of Sur-Ron before I bought mine in the summer of last year. Mine is completely stock except foot pegs, bash guard v2 and new brake pads. I couldn't be happier, it's plenty of power for my local trails. I have the programming cable, but I thought that was just so you could confirm your command was saved with the little red LED. Might be worth a shot to watch the Luna video and try it. I was able to turn off ebrake without removing any wiring, as well as turning the regen down a bit. Again, couldn't be happier. I look forward to your harescramble races. Looks fun! Take care.

I have the x model, they don't all have regeneration, Mine does not. And also I have the quarter turn "cable" throttle. So not just wire quarter turn available. Some people have had problems with the wire throttle. Absolutely love my sur ron best purchase ever,and what you get for the money is priceless!!!!

My son also didn't originally have regen breaking. They have a special wire that you're supposed to get with a bike to set your region setting but I mind it never come with it. Sounds like yours was similar.

Awesome video breaking down the year's of 🚲 🚵‍♀️ 🚴‍♀️ differences. The budget chain bash guard. Take a inner tube cut ✂️ to length. Cut it again, so its no longer a round tube shape. Wrap the tube onto frame,zip tie to hold it in place.

Great video, loved hearing the history. I am actually buying one on Friday the only thing im hung up on is if I should get the Surron Segway X260 or the Surron X. There is about a 300 dollar difference but I can get the X260 in two days, the Surron X won't ship out to maybe the end of May? What do you think? Are they really the exact same bike? I could really use your opinion and advice!!! Thank you!

I'd say the Sur-ron X through Luna Cycle is better overall. (I also have a video on the differences between the two). Luna has great costumer service in my opinion, but they're is that waiting untill after May, which I know can be a bummer not having your bike half the summer. On the other hand, the Segway x260 is pretty much the same at the Sur-ron but Ive heard not great things about they're customer service. The x260 it self is a great bike though, and I know from personal experience that working/fixing/problemsolving anything on these bikes can easily be found on the Sur-ron owners group page. Id honestly say go with the x260 if you can get it that much sooner. And if there is any problems with the bike that segway can't help with (which they're usually isn't with these bikes) you can join the Facebook owners group and easily figure it out. The Segway also has a slick app that can control the performance of the bike which I personally like.

Depends on how hard your riding. They say it can go 60 miles on a charge, which I believe you can get if you doing a constant 15mph on the road. But if your riding hard like racing it, you get more like 25-30 miles on a charge.

i’m 16 and wanting to buy a sur ron, i’m not sure what model to get, or weather to get road level or off road, as i’d like to be able to drive it on the roads, however they are restricted to 30 mph which is still quite fast but my friend has an off road sur ron x which goes 45 mph and also it’s just a 15 mph increase, it’s so much fun, also what other requirements are there for it to be road legal, like licenses, plates and insurance

Just bought my own sur ron a week ago, and got the road legal 2021 model, as it has two different modes on it, one being Eco which has the lower speed limit and then sport mode which has the increased speed, you would still get the performance basically regardless. At least from what I can tell. And at the end moving on you can always upgrade the bike with a higher end battery from Lightspeed and a new controller and tires, depending on what type of riding style you want. Road legal is mostly that you get the turn signals, mirrors and so on, at least that was what I got when I bought mine.

Yes, the magura is the new e throttle. It look similar, but if you look closely they are a little different.

You could get it street legal but you would need a motorcycle liscnes and insuanrce

You can get a kit for those things online that would be easy to wire in. Still very unlikely it could be registered even if you got a professional installation. Why would you want it to be? Get the pedal pack and lie or run.

The only sur ron video that I’ve seen that demonstrates what these e bikes? truly are electric motto cross and not e mountain bikes and if you want too ride them on the road they need to registered and insured no bike lanes no public trails and definitely no footpaths or on private property use only don’t get me wrong I love the bikes but are they bikes or electric motorcycles ?
