I once had quite a collection of bonsai. But then I moved on in life. But that's an unrelated story. Seeing the tree within the tree and then picturing the growth changed in two, four, six and ten years time was my secret. I even did diagrams of the imagined future of the bonsai. The person I lived with had no affinity with any type of plant so that suited the environment I needed to get close to the bonsai. When I went my own way the plants were all I missed. And yes they were all left to die. What a shame.

Corin, if you were to do any carving work on the Privet, would there be a 'better' time of the year to do it please?

Don’t you love it when people in the comments always seem to know better than the person with years of experience 😂 Great tree Corin!

They are commenting from there own experience, not Corin's that's just how conversation evolves, that's just how some people learn✌now they can watch this and learn. Never stop questioning.

@@simonbremner2707 indeed, and perhaps they do it to a tree that is not healthy, or on an evergreen.
