I wanna say up until GT5, they kept the sound design relatively the same because a lot of the effects, including the starting signal for a race is so distinct to Gran Turismo's identity.

This track was one of my favorite growing up on GT3. It's crazy to watch not only the progression of graphics, but the progression of taking an actual racing line and treating it like an actual track where they tried to find the right gear and hit the apex instead of just throwing the car around the corner and hoping for the best

There is no leap like GT2 to GT3 anymore 2:55. That was enormous. Going from barely textured razor edged blocks moving vaguely on a rippling pixelated background to fully formed models and pretty fine trackside detail. Probably the most impressive generation transition. I mean going to 3D was great, but when I booted GT3 up and saw the sun light pouring through the trees on that it made videogames feel more concrete than they ever had before, knowing photorealism would happen. Given enough time. We're close now, 20 years later. The only racing game memory that beats it for me was seeing Virtua Racing for the first time, at home, on a 32X. That was ridiculous.

@@disracenboi336 The ray tracing didn't even look in game. It was all on the intro and replay footage but nothing much in the actual game play that was shown. GT7 looks like a polished GT sport, it really isn't much of an advance.

Tourist Trophy is one of the hardest racing games I’ve ever played. Rewarding, but extremely involved.

It really forces you to learn the proper racing line, and punishes you extremely harshly if you misjudge your braking point or catch a bump wrong. I've found the fastest bikes in that game are the ones that can tolerate being thrown about like a ragdoll while still having the torque to punch out of corners. The Buell Firebolt XB12R in particular did remarkably well on this track, which I think is down to its hilariously short wheelbase and alarmingly light weight considering the size of its engine.

Freaking love playing it in GT3! I even took out the time to actually properly learn the track and can do 1:20’s quite consistently with my pb being 1:19,6 or something along those lines on the reverse layout. Definitely one pretty amazing track if you ask me.😁
