In case you ask, and long story short, I don't have the video clip where I talk about the energy efficiency and range. On this trip I easily managed a mixed 450km of range, and in city driving I even managed 20kWh/100km, which is what my EV6 gets with more spirited driving! Very impressive range and efficiency for a giant SUV. EDIT: Thanks to matzz88 for letting me know that the user manual, page 5-17, indicates that the manual door lock is located under the plastic cover that I point out in the segment where I talk about Utility Mode. It is a shame Kia did not make the manual lock easily accessible.

I have to say, I wasn't sure what to expect with a 36 minute EV9 review, but I'm glad I dove into it and watched it to the end! Zero fluff, tons of informative content, and noticeable real-world experience pros and cons in this. Big things for me are the extra storage, auto folding seats, Apple Maps/Google Maps in the HUD. That key fob does seems like a giant pain. Hopefully they redesign that. Very much appreciate your candour and attention to detail, André!

First, thank you very much for the comment, I really appreciate it. Second, yes, my car review videos are on the long side, but only include what I deem interesting for viewers and no filler. At least that is what I hope I do 😎. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoyed the bloopers at the end.
@AlainODea4 ай бұрын
@@EV-olution very much enjoyed the bloopers. At no point when watching it did I say "this feels long", which I definitely have watching some of the much shorter EV reviews lately. I was engaged and interested the entire time. This wasn't a formula piece, it was "here, I've actually used this and here's what annoyed and what delighted me." Really worth watching.

@@AlainODea you have no idea how happy your comment makes me. It is always difficult for me when I release a full review video because they are always 35 to 45 minutes long and I worry that people will click out because of how KZbin and people are today (30 second shorts, 2 minute videos, short attention spans). Thanks again, it really helps, especially since it has been over 1 year I had posted a video 😎.

This is one of the rare review where a lot of legit minor flaws are discussed. I'm very much leaning towards leasing a GTline vs buying for once in my life because i feel like the next version of the EV9 will be nicer and these kinked worked out. Will be switching from a Model 3 to this. No walk away lock or jump in, shift and go feature will bug me for sure but 3 row EV SUVs right now at this price range is just rare.

I am glad you liked my video. I always review an electric vehicle as if I were buying it for myself and point out the good and the not so good. The EV9 is pretty much the best offering on the market in terms of what you get for the price. However, the Ioniq 9 was just released and may be worth looking into. I look forward to reviewing it.

Thank you for such a great review! Especially nice to see reviews from fellow Canadians - I’m in Ottawa. I’ve been watching hours and hours of content on the EV9, and just signed on the dotted line for a 2025 EV9. I also watched your video on dislikes about the EV6 and noted the 12V/ICCU issue that all egmp cars seem to have. Is there anything other than carrying a booster pack you would recommend? Is the ICCU issue enough a concern to hold off on receiving the EV9? Thank you again!
@EV-olution16 күн бұрын
You are very welcome and congratulations on your new EV9, it is a great vehicle. Regarding the 12V and the ICCU, the latest updates and ICCU seem to have eliminated the 12V battery issue so you should be good to go. I still recommend getting a 12V booster pack since it can be useful to boost another person's car without having to connect you shiny new computer on wheels to it 😎 You may be interested in some of my other videos, like the Tuxmat 2.0 video and the EV winter wheel and tire video.

I'm a nearly three-year owner of an EV6 over here in the UK, and echo your liking for your own. Again, like you, I will never need to buy an EV9 but - as with your previous issues - I found your video very entertaining and informative, especially about the advances that have been included. One thing that I have never seen mentioned, however, is the 'shininess' of the interior, both plastic panels and chrome fittings. A function of this is the flashes of reflections from these surfaces when driving past street lights at night, or between trees beside the road during the day. Maybe I am particularly sensitive to objects in my peripheral vision, but I do find this quite disconcerting on occasions. Matt interior finishes would perhaps be safer, but I guess they would not be a selling point for most people. Have you ever been affected by these distractions?

The gloss black and chrome trim in my EV6 have been a pet peeve of mine since I got it and I experience the same issue as you. I get blinded by the sun relfecting off the plastic. That is actually one of the things I will be talking about in the video that I will make about the things I hate about my EV6. I have a list 😎

Hey! For my niro ev you have to do the following to leave the car on and locked: 1) roll down the window 2) get out of the car then shut the door 3) lock the door from the inside lock button 4) roll up the window through the open window Ps. Make sure you have your key…fob won’t work but physical key will! Not sure if ev9 has a key hole on the outside of the door???

Thanks for the info. I was aware of that work-around since that is what EV9 owners have been posting in the Facebook group, but it is far from being convenient. I did find out that the EV9 has a manual key lock under the plastic snap cover that I mention in the video, but once again, that is not very convenient. Thanks again, I appreciate the info and your comment.

Ps I've always wanted to ask what part of Canada are you from the reason I was asking is on my mums side of the family we have relatives in the North West Territories the wife and husband visited us here in the UK and brought their very young daughter with them and I must say her young voice was one of the nicest accents I've ever heard. Mum and dad then went out to visit them and I remember my dad bringing me back (what was in the 80s the world's tallest book 😂 of the CN tower pretty cool for me to show my friends 😊😊😊

@EV-olution4 ай бұрын
Yes, the Petro Canada is in a pretty sad state. It really is a shame because they created an EV charging highway across Canada, were the first, but don't seem to care, or they stopped caring once the media stopped reporting on it 3 months after the launch.

I did not have the time, nor did I think about testing that, but it is a great question. Since it was a press car and I had to give it back after 1 week, I would have to ask someone who owns one. My guess is that Kia thought about that and I imagine the buttons get deactivated when the tailgate is closed, but I don't know this as a fact. I am just guessing.
