IMPORTANT NOTE: One thing I should have mentioned at the beginning of this video is that certain features shown will only apply to the GT-Line 2 trim of the Kia EV6. There are also some differences based on the country your car is in. The windows not going back up is a North American issue. The car talking when charging is only for certain languages, etc. Thanks to someone on Facebook for reminding me about this.

Southern Ontario the sites visible to gm/Ford has a some sites in the smaller towns and tourist areas along lakes Erie and Huron which would be good to have. In Quebec which has a more dcfc sites would the access be a big improvement? Regarding the addition of Superchargers in Québec, the impact is not as important since we have an excellent network in place from Circuit Électrique, plus some others like Electrify Canada, but the addition of more DCFC in any situation is a good thing regardless.

@EV-olutionАй бұрын
You are very welcome. There is no setting for the car to announce the charging status (talking to you), it just does it. From what I have gathered, it would seem to be limited to certain countries, and I am guessing it is based on language. Even though you speak English, the UK accent is different as compared to the North American accent, so I am guessing they simply did not activate the feature for the UK, like some other countries where viewers have told me their car also does not speak.

I saw one video where a reviewer showed how to open the rear hatch by walking past the passenger side mirror. The hatch just popped up on its own!
@EV-olution2 ай бұрын
The trunk opening automatically has to do with the key fob and proximity to the trunk. You can approach the car from any side and once you enter within about 1 metre of the trunk, the car will beep 3 times, then the trunk will pop open. I deactivated the feature because everytime I passed by my car to go to the trash can outside (or any other reason) the car would beep and if I did not exit the sensor area the trunk would open.

More great tips, thanks! I just want to mention with the (US market 2024) EV6 GT the mirrors don't dip in reverse. Just like the Niro, you need power seats to make the mirrors dip. I presume it has something to do with one of the body control modules or their programming. The cameras work really well, however. Another thing is the GT doesn't have snow mode! I found this to be a little strange but maybe the GT mode took up that little spot of memory in the computer or something. The internet tells me that it's just 'Normal' mode with regen set to 1. That's how I usually drive, anyway.
@EV-olution3 ай бұрын
Thank you very much. You are correct about the seats, but it is for every version. If there are no power seats, but more specifically, if there are no seat memory buttons, the side mirrors will not dip when the car is put in reverse. I should have mentioned that in the video. Regarding the GT not having snow mode, that surprises me! FYI, snow mode is more than just regen limitation to 1. In snow mode the car is always in AWD, the regen is limited to level 1, and the accelerator pedal sensitivity and reaction is changed. I use it in the winter when it snows because it makes the car easier to drive in slippery conditions. Thanks again, I appreciate the comment.

Yes, it is frustrating that EU version has the feature. I am gussing that there is some obscure Canadian (or US) law/rule that prevented Kia from making it a feature here.
@thesargonas3 ай бұрын
@@EV-olution Sadly there is. You can't have the car windows be able to roll up automatically without you physically inside the car, unless there is a specific series of backstops in place, including the ability to instantaneously cancel the rollup with one action and no delay, a pressure sensor that stops and rolls back under a minimal limit of reverse pressure on the window, and several other things I can't remember. Likely, the combination of requirements together are either not technically feasible, or beyond the budgeting scope of the cars BoM.

How’s the real world range during Quebec winters on full charge?
@EV-olutionАй бұрын
The general rule of thumb for any modern EV in winter is a 30% loss of range. With that being said, in my experience, both my wife's 2019 Kia Soul EV, my previous 2019 Kia Niro EV, and now with my 2022 Kia EV6, the winter range loss is about 25%. As for a range number, that is a number that will be different for each person, even if two people have the same car the range numbers can be vastly different because of several factors: heavy or light foot, wind, rain, snow, wheel size, tires, tire pressure, road condition and surfaces, highway vs city driving, etc. My EV6 GT-Line Pack 2 has 20 inch wheels from the factory and is officially rated for 406km or range from Kia; however, in the summer I get up to 450km, but average about 400km since I do a fair amount of highway driving which reduces range in an EV. For the winter I bought some 19 inch Fast Wheels that are light and aerodynamic (video available on my channel) and with my winter tires I get between 300km and 320km, which falls into my 25% average range loss. I hope this helps, but if you want to know more I have this video from 3 years ago. I cringe at watching an old video, but the info is valid still: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJbTkqdrbdeaf7Msi=VHUeoTclwEU3jc1p

Constructive criticism only--for hidden feature #5 in your Part 2 video, you may want to note that for Windows users the ability to format a USB drive using FAT32 may not be a selectable option if the USB drive is 64 GB or larger--the default if not only format in such case is exFAT; yes there are third-party plug-ins that will add the ability to format a >32 GB drive using FAT32 but I'm willing to bet the majority of Windows users out there aren't wondering whether their 64+ GB drive must be formatted using FAT32. Just pointing that out in case someone is following your video and then attempts to format their 128 GB USB drive only to discover that there is no default option to format it using FAT32. Other than that, kudos on creating the video--I'm pretty sure plenty of other EV6 owners will be in awe upon learning about those features.

@EV-olution2 ай бұрын
The car has an auto unlock feature and I believe it is in all trim levels, but I am not 100% sure. What version of the EV6 do you have? I have a video that shows you how to configure it, but it should be on by default. Here is the video : kzbin.info/www/bejne/gn3LgGWClribm5Ysi=aBUPjoGCJ1dE_FyK

I know the car has power locks, but the Kia Canada site does not list the auto unlock feature for any trim, it only lists the auto presenting handle option which is only available on higher trim levels. I would still think that the auto unlock would be present on the Wind trim. If you use the video I shared above (How-To - EV6, EV9, Ioniq 5 and 6 Door Lock Settings), then you will know if you have the option or not. If the menu option is not present in your touchscreen then you don't have the feature. Please let me know.

@EV-olution3 ай бұрын
I understand completely and that was originally the plan. Unfortunately, because of the way the KZbin algorithm works, if I were to do that then people would skip to watch 30 seconds of the video, which would kill the video stats, which would make KZbin stop promoting it, meaning that nobody would see it. It would defeat the entire purpose of the video which is to help as many people possible. Sometimes it's very frustrating having to work within these forced boundries.

What is the best way to bring my ev6 out of the hole ( drag race)
@EV-olutionАй бұрын
Good question. I have not really tested different methods. I would think simply holding the brake pedal then mashing the accelerator to the floor, even with traction control turned on, would provide the best launch, but it depends on the driving surface as well. If the surface is good then I would try fully disabling traction control (press once, then press and hold to fully deactivate) and use 2 foot brake and accelerator to see if it improves the launch.

Yeah, not happening with our model - it would not update automotive steering devices OTA, only starting from EV9 and later models (which obviously includes the EV6 facelift) they can update everything, given the car hardware supports it. That said - as you can notice with how easily the drive assistant gives up if vision on the lane gets unclear - the HNG is a very conservative developer and this limits generally on what they would change on a perfectly working vehicle.
