Thanks Nobby. You're really doing well with your car reviews recently. Keep up the good work mate. Well done. 👍

My average from almost 32 000 km is 20.3 kWh. It is AWD Gt-line, and I'm a dynamic driver. Fot reference, Jag I-Pace consumed around 26.5 kWh and BMW IX 50 around 24.5 kWh.

I like the updates, it stacks up very well versus the competitors. I have a GT Line and Im getting about 17kwh/100km, mixed driving. I still think electric car prices will need to drop to get people buying them again. I hear from dealers that the new model in GT Line is 58/59k.

Great review! Thanks for providing it. How do you think this compares to the Ioniq 5 or 6. You seemed to have a massive smile on your face the whole time for the 5N review! I love Kias but have had some issues with support on my car from Kia Canada. So may go Hyundai next time. Although I drove the EV6 for a week and it was by far the best car I have ever driven!! Preferred it to my brief Tesla drives (Y and 3)

This spec is not the one that will be available to purchase in Ireland. Very sneaky from Kia, they've removed the Driver Monitoring Cameras from all their press cars to avoid criticism of the incessant beeping from the system. Buyer beware. Don't buy without a proper test drive of the facelift car when it arrives in early 2025.
@NobbyOnCarsАй бұрын
No they haven’t
@mad4tar77Ай бұрын
@@NobbyOnCars I'm delighted to be corrected. Looking at the car you test drove however, the grey one, does not appear to have the driver monitoring camera fitted. From 8:20 to 8:40 of the video, the place were the Camera is fitted is in view, but there is no camera fitted. The cars that Kia UK offered for their recent press day also had no driver monitoring cameras fitted.
@KiwidaedongАй бұрын
I guess the driver monitor cameras will become normal on most new models so that they get their 5 star safety rating. This EV6 is a refresh of existing model so not necessary to put a driver monitoring system in it.
@mad4tar77Ай бұрын
@Kiwidaedong FYI - all facelift EV6s sold in the EU (and UK) do contain a driver monitoring camera. Kia removed them from the press cars that were available for test drives in this case, very sneaky.

11:45 Fuel efficiency?! That's blasphemous when asking about an EV. 😂
@paulcarey3878Ай бұрын
Nobby, this is part of the problem with EV's. Better batteries, longer range, more insulation, etc. This is causing the price of earlier models to fall off a cliff as dealers can no longer estimate depreciation properly. Who is going to but an older model with less range, economy and spec?
@NobbyOnCarsАй бұрын
@@paulcarey3878 don’t disagree with you - I have an 18 year old car that does the same distance now that it did the day someone brought it home ☺️
@ebmk96Ай бұрын
That's why you lease. Depreciation for electric vehicles is awful
@glacieractivityАй бұрын
This is not an EV problem, it is a local market problem (I can say from Norway). For years one could "flip" certain EV models with a profit over here and for years EVs hardly depreciated at all. Now the used market has adjusted depreciation to be roughly equal to ICE cars. This is also due to so many owning and understanding EVs, calculating "TCO" (total cost of ownership) rather than simple depreciation on EVs vs ICE. We also have enough people on their first or second EV who understand the value of a used premium EV thus making second-hand value realistic. I bet that right-side steering is acting on the British Isles alongside the fact that you are comparatively slow adaptors both on sales and infrastructure. The British "Porche drop-off" would have looked very different as the Nordics/BeNeLux people are interested in a low-mileage Cross Turismo, but not with right-hand steering, thus you sit in a very tiny EV marketplace (especially for 100K electric cars). These early pains will go away as EVs "normalize" like in the 5 Nordics and BeNeLux. We also expect an avalanche of used Cross Turismos coming to the used market now (as a LOT of owners are waiting for the Maccan EV). Bargains may be made as is typical of these high-end cars forever. There were always enough people with enough money who could not wait for the BMW M5 model to drop so they bought a 535 CSi while they waited, happy to sell with substantial loss. The same is seen with people waiting for the Mercedes AMG variant or dudes buying a new 911 4S while waiting for the Turbo etc. Sure, there are still some questions and hesitation and potential depreciation as early adaptors, but analysts now claim that the cost of the EV drivetrain will reach parity with ICE within 2 years. When you can replace the entire battery pack for less than refurbishing an engine that has gone south, those questions are gone too.

Hyundai and Kia just work at breakneck speed don't they. It feels like they just came out with the EV6 and poof there's a new one with a bigger battery! Meanwhile, we still are waiting for a new Model Y. I don't get the obsession with Teslas. They have been horribly built like they were a car third of the value.

Very subjective but each to his own! Well all I can say is I think it's the prettiest car outside of a Porsche stable and some Porsches are ugly by comparison! From most other points of view is about the best EV you can get. Originally I set out to get a Tesla Y but I've got suspicious about the way the company works and don't like the lack of switches, driver's display and indicator stalks. Tesla's also look a bit bland by comparison.
