I went to longboard haven in toronto with my wowgo 2S once. Few months later I went back bought their landyatchz switchblade 38. I remember the first time I went the guy behind the counter (Robert Sydia), when he saw I had a chinese motorised skateboard, showed me that same evolve baseplate ( 12:09 ) that fractured at a similar spot. One of his custumer had that happen while riding the board on the streets just will cruising over very minimal road irregularities, nothing abusive. Examining the sheared off surface, I'm not a metallurgist or anything, but I can tell you right away the material composing the trucks basplate looked a whole lot more like your regular street concrete than any real metal. I think I recall seeing a speck or two of more shiny metal material within the concrete core of this fractured basplate Rob had kept under the counter. That baseplate seem already frail enought with minimal molded substance in an effort to remain lightweight. But combine minimal structural volume support with shitty brittle pot metal (Basically concrete) and it's not the safest setup. The evolve is worth CNC machined from quality billet alu IMHO.

If you want quality and support go Boosted and the remote by Boosted the best out there.😎

I have both, and both have a place. I could say if you don't want to charge your battery 4x a day buy evolve... but I love boosted because its smaller and lighter for short journeys! yes I agree boosted has superior remote

I got one too, My recycle count is 6640 so that will tell you how many miles I already got on it haha. I really like the board, my deck grip is starting to wear out, I already replaced a motor and a remote which where free courtesy of the awesome guys at Evolve Germany. I will probably buy the Evolve bamboo GTX (black edition) when it comes out. If anyone wants any advice or tips or things to now about the board, hit me up ill help you out.

Oh yeah and I really like your vid btw, your km assessment of how long the board lasts is spot on. The max I ever gotten was 26,5km with a few hill climbs and a lot of charging with braking with an average speed of 25km/u in 50% Eco, 30% Fast and 20% GT. GT Will rek your battery, and since I got so much experience with the board I also ride in GT mode these days. The only downside then is that it eats battery like a Mother F*cker. If I go all GT Full speed hard pulls with not that much breaking and average about 30km/u the battery will last 10km. If you go Fast mode all the time with the same use as above it will get you about 15km If you go Eco mode all the time with the same use as above you wil get 23km Well on the topic of top speed. The fastest I was ever able to go on the regular street wheels is 35km/u. This is fast but easy manageable if your experienced with skating speed and have balance. I also got the offroad wheels which get you a max speed of 34km/u which is fast and scary since your high up and your center of gravity is way higher then usual. But still it is usable. On the topic of battery with the AT wheels (off-road) you get terrible range. If you go in Eco mode and drive on the street your lucky to get 13km out of the battery. If you go in the forrest with Eco mode you kind of can't since you don't have enough power to plow trough everything so I havent tested that. But In the forrest I always use Fast/GT your battery will then run out in 5km of off roading over sand paths hills and powering at an average speed of lets say 21km/u. If anyone likes a little off road E-board content since there isn't much off on YT I can make a video if there is demand. And keep up the great content eSk8r!

The more you use the remote the more you get use to it. I think that would be the case with any eboard.

The motors are 1500w each for a total combined of 3000w, Evolves marketing often get this wrong. The truck parts tend to snap like that due to their construction, as they use large amounts of zinc in the mix. If you want to prevent your board from shooting off when bumping the trigger, you can download and 3D print trigger guards, and the trigger you can also use a bit of roam under the trigger and pcb to give it a softer feel. In regards to the 'high quality' I hope you go well, but there is a growing list of issues with the quality of these parts, and a growing number of affected customer, so be careful and ride safe.

warren jordan the issues with the trucks were fixed a while ago.

thats what they say, but it still happens, along with many other issues, not to be too negative, but I run one of the largest riders groups in Australia, so I can speak from a little experience. Safe riding

warren jordan that sucks if that's still the case I had thought they fixed the material issues.
@wozfromoz8795

yeah it does, I don't care to go into all the other issues, but if you google or reddit search you will find out. It does suck, we all want them to do well as they are fun to ride, but quality and safety needs to improve. Happy riding mate.

warren jordan absolutely. I have a bamboo gt and haven't had any major issues yet "knock on wood". That being said they could improve their batteries for sure. The crazy voltage sag can get very annoying especially when its as simple as using higher quality batteries.

Great Video!! I really love my Bamboo GT. The only things you shouldn't do with it... (1) ride it in the rain (it's watersealed but not really waterproof) (2) mess with the speed-modes during a connection loss (you could end up in reverse...) (3) try to get it on an airplane >.< ... apart from that it's without doubt one of the best eLongsboards out there; like Evolve's support!! If you are interested in the Bamboo GT, check out my video on how to modify your griptape: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXPPgIuuZrKMoJI Best, Jerry
