We're back with another discussion on evolve and talking about how it was a one time thing that ended too quickly. This is basically a follow up to my evolve video I did last year (that Mic Crackle one lmao) There was something more I wanted to talk about evolve but now finally have the idea.

I love evolve and it's one of my favourite games of all time and I hate that it's dead for really stupid reasons

I think as community we should all gather and actually create are own evolve?

There are no game sexactly like Evolve. Howerer, kind of similar feel of mighty character vs other characters is present in primal carnage series, 2012-2024 (when playing as tyrant class) and titanfall 1-2, 2014, 2016. And I have to mention one game where human classes worked kind of like in evovle: enemy territoy-quake wars, 2007. Of course, not in a way 1 giant mosnters vs 4 higly tech-advanced people. The main problem of Evovle was rleying too much on teamwork. If gamne was ftp from the start, it could be active mp game. But evovle isn`t dead, because there is discrod sever with rice fix mod, which unlocks all dlcs on pc (they were broken when servers were shut down), peer-to-peer still works in legacy version. But now, after returning to evovle to finish hunter masteries, I have found that many ideas of evovle also live and evolved, especially in Vermintide 2. Evoivle have character variants, evovle stage 2 even have varinats featuring othr classes, than usuall (e.g. trappr become assault). Verminitde 2 have careers, which are esentially variants from Evovle, and progression system (more complicated, but still focusing around enhancing skills). The only differecne is "middle ground" in team play^ while each clas sis focused in one thing, talents allow to change playstyle closer to other roles, and any class can do all things, just not as effective, as feature it specialising in. Map effects are random in Vermntide 2, but are the base of winds of magic and chaos wastes game modes - each map features either one of 4-8 sets of effects with varation, and player`s victory in chaos watses allows modify their sskills to gainn advantage. So, Vermintide series, while being very far from beng ideal, larne don mistakes of evovle and, in my opinion, is partially spiritual heir of it. Maybe when versus mode finally arrive in vermintide 2, there will be 1 more game where at least stage 1-sized monster (rat-ogr,e chaos spawn, bile troll) can face 4 human players. Even newere game from turtle rock stories - back for blood, 2021- took many elements form evovle. Ogre is zombified Goliath, who even throw reskinned stones (chuncks of meat). Sopitters are smaller gorgons. Unfortuantelly, versus pvp is very resticted (small arena which is constantly decreasein size), but sill essentially the same in basic gameplay: zombies are controlled from 3-d person and have similar skills, even keybinds, while hunters use huge custmizable arsenal to fend off monster attacks in 1-s person. Also perks and level effects are evovled into card systems. Finally, there is funnyl cycle close to Evovle. Goliath is basically godzilla-king-kong hybrid in design, but it is his very late design. For me, Goloiath is more muscular version of Dehaka from star craft 2: herat of the swarm, some abilities are the same and appearanc ecan`t be just coincidence - Goliath is inspired by Dhaka 100%. Later, in 2017, Dehaka have become co-op commander, and now actually became grand-scale version of Goliath: 15 levels, grow with each level, choose between new abilities and ehcnahncig others, changes his model once (actually stage 1-stage 3 jump in appearance), and have Goliath abilites: jump on enemise and burn them with flame. Of ocurse, to evovle, Dehaka eats his preys,, using long tongue (this ability was in heart of the swarm 2 yeras prior Behemoth in Evolve). So, in my experience, which is nowhere complete, there are 3 "living" games which share some of evolve atmoshere: enemy terirory - quake wars, primal carnage: extinction, titanfall 2 and there are 3 games which bear the banner of evovle legacy in may recognizable gameplay elements: vermintide 2 (classes, progresisoons, map modificators), back for blood (about half features, including card system and monster gameplay, the same developers), starcraft 2 (Dehaka co-op commander only).
