Sometimes when applying books, certain generals with dual passives can apply a second book of same type. Takeda can have additional book for mounted where as Washington can not.

If you play in the battlefield events and gain the special badge rewards over many separate battlefields, you will be able to save up around 2000. It could take a while depending on a lot of factors. Once you have the 2000+ you can keep refreshing the battlefield shop located just outside of the city walls. After numerous refreshes (50 gems per refresh) you will be able to buy a Epic Historical General with 2040 Badges. This price may vary sometimes, but im not sure on that

PvP Generals can vary depending on use case, however generally you will want Ranged stats for the primary PvP general. Once you have that general you can also get one for ground such as Trajan to use against ranged armies. Monsters are usually weak to cavalry (Mounted) troops, therefore a general that has Mounted buffs is a must, although make sure this general may be used while attacking. This is covered in skill books by "while attacking" "when leading army" etc

George is not a general that should be upgraded, he can be used until you get a good one that you may focus on. Although Cleo is good, she is good due to her skill book. This means that there is no need to upgrade her as the skill book will work at any level. The only thing you might add to cleo is ring gear to increase the double drop rate further.

When buying $100 packs, is there always a chance to get say Hannibal or martinus? Or is there certain generals available for certain events?

I mean more so if you get Hannibal in a pack today, will he still be available to get in 2 months time? I've seen packs that say about a chance to get a certain epic historic, such as last month was el cid, and this month it said Matthias 1. Upon purchase of the pack last month, I had to use 2 $100 packs before getting el cid, and this month i received Matthias on the first try. I also received an in game announcement yesterday saying that the upcoming event on Halloween will have a chance to get generals Roland, kusunoki masashige, Robert guitars, and alfred the great from the 5th package. Not sure if anybody has tried to keep track of what generals they have got from packs during certain events or not, but this would be a good follow up video, unless they are all at random

I mean evony never tell us the chance of getting generals, but seen as I have bought the event packs you're talking about before and did not get the advertised general.. I am confident that you can get any general, especially ones not in the tavern. Although it may be a higher chance for the advertised ones, than say an older hannibal. You can also get premium epic historical generals in regular non-event packs if the right pack rolls around after a few hours of waiting

Hey Evony, Just got Li Jing and thought I could build around him. but I heard you say he is not the best. So I have a couple of questions. 1 is with 35% increase why is he not the best? 2. Is it possible to teach a general a debuff? because I was thinking If I could teach him a range debuff.

You cannot add a debuff to a general through a skill book, only gear and some dragons/refines. He is not the "best" in my list, however this does not mean that he is not good overall when compared to any random historical general. His 35% is great although because he only has the one buff, you cannot add more attack skill books to him, whereas most other general in the list you can do that. If you did not have another general from the list to use, feel free to continue on with your li jing!

@@EvonyGuides Just stumbled upon Xiang Yu, a purple General from China. He has the same 35% Mounted troop attack but also has Sabotage speciality. My noob head is telling me only the first speciality comes with the general when recruited. Which is the 35% Mounted troop attack. So How is it possible to add the Sabotage?

Purple generals do not age nearly as well as the gold ones such as your li jing. If you already have a Epic Historical General that is good (for anything) investing in ANY purple general is simply not worth it. Although do keep an eye out for Cleopatra (no need to level her anyway). The specialties are very hard to max out even on one general, to even attempt this on a purple general is very unnecessary and will be regretted. If you wanted to add specialties it will require hundreds or thousands of rune stones and a general leveled to 25 minimum. Apologies for any harshness

@@EvonyGuides No, I wasn't gonna invest on it, (Yes, I'm hoping to get those Historic Epic Generals you mentioned) but wondering if a general comes with one speciallity, and the rest was supposed to be developed by the player, the General was expected to learn a debuff. How do they learn Sabotage? (because you said it's not possible to teach them debuff skills)

@@melesayabdullahi3754 The thing you get with a historical general is a special Skill. The ability to unlock and upgrade specialties is very different and requires runestones/gems. There are some generals that have debuffs in the specialties and there are many that do not. You need a general level 25 to start unlocking the specialties and you have to do it in order from left to right, only unlocking the last one (best) after maxing the others first.

Thanks for another helpful video. What would be the best skill books to use for a boss general? I was going to use mounted attack, defense and speed although I'm not to sure how effective the speed mechanic is. Would mounted HP be better? Also if a mounted attack book and a mounted attack vs monster book are both used on the same general do the buffs stack or only the higher one from the "vs monster" book?

Now that there are vs monster books you are best using mounted attack vs monsters, mounted attack and mounted HP. Although speed can be helpful against bossses, this book is no longer a good option now with better books becoming available. Any book that is able to be added, will work.

I have martinis and trying to work out what skillbooks to put on him. I understand he is late stage general, considering the time it takes to cultivate his specialties, so trying to plan ahead. I know I can't put mounted attack, and mounted def and HP seem obvious. Not sure what the third should be. What have you seen on Martinis from more established players?

The defense just means armor rating and HP means Health Points. I haven't looked into what exactly defense does but usually it's best to just look at the high base stats of each troop type and attempt to increase the higher ones, as the higher the base stat, the more a percentage will help. This mostly means HP is better than defense in most situations as far as I know.

Thanks. Does that extend to subs? I remember your video on sub generals. Cixi offered def rebuff while Nero offer HP rebuff. So is Nero better?

You would assume that, however it does seem like a lot of 1B+ players use more cixi than nero. I think people just do it because more % debuff however perhaps it would actually be best to go for neros. Always keep in mind you can't debuff someone to 0% stats so you need to still have a split between different stats you're debuffing so it isn't wasted

You cannot stack a luck skill on cleo. Also because she is best to be used as alliance rally joining general for increased rewards.. she does not need to be leveled up, cultivated or given any skill books. Although a ring that increases the drop rate of items is always a must! If you needed to use her to attack monsters and boss monsters for the time being feel free to add attack, HP and Defense books to her.. but keep in mind once you can replace her for a better Main Boss Killing General, those skills would have been 100% wasted

@@EvonyGuides I only use her for boss rallies, and as a sub city general so i put contructiuon skill, gold production and was told to add monsters respect for additional XP. I understand what you mean she is useless otherwise, but i'm only K21 so she does well for viking rallies. but i guess a ring could help with the luck if additional luck skill can't be added

The ring gives a nice bonus over time, worth the investment, just make sure you wait for a yellow fighters ring if possible

Claim the fragments from the chest daily (top right chest icon) 30 fragments gets you a general. Otherwise collecting gems and gold to refresh the tavern generals to eventually get a historical one to show up you'd like to buy with the gold

I would personally not use this general. This general has various different troop types includes in his default skill book/specialties. As players opt for using predominantly one troop type when attacking any given player, having a general that has buffs for more than one troop type, this general is not optimal for any task. If wanting to use him anyway, I would suggest Ranged Attack, Ranged troop range increase and ranged defense/HP. I see you have commented on a boss general video, but i do not know if you only wanted to use him for that purpose..? If you did, use Mounted attack, Mounted Attack against monster and Mounted HP

yeah i mean he works for those looking to kill the level 10 boss or lower, as adding good gear to him will do just fine. This means he is great for those that do not spend money on the game and are active enough to get the most out of their free stamina.

I can say here though for now that you should have kings gear in under 2 months from first playing, and dragons gear after perhaps 6 months if you are very active with the no 1 or no 2 alliance.

@@therealisticgooner8267 I believe the higher subs do create better materials for your gear yes, it isn't going to be your primary method of getting them though. It is best to join as many rallies (or make them) against boss monsters for the materials and be sure to open all those chests! The king's gear scrolls shouldn't be too difficult to get after hitting boss 10 etc many times. Baibars and Cleopatra are good generals for drop rate and you can use the luck skill book if you don't have these generals, in addition, you may use the various ring gear that increases drop rate on your general/s.

@@benjo004 He is a fine general, however as you have found out he cannot have the second attack book added. If you were able to obtain another boss general that can have this book added, those are going to be better. It is usually much easier said than done, therefore you can stick with li jing for a while before switching

@@EvonyGuides I got 1043 wounded sending 300k t11to Warlord level 1. Remember Warlords specify what units are either better or worse against them. This last week the description said that they were dealing extra damage against mounted troops and receiving extra damage from Ground Troops. Maybe that's why. I used March size increase item to kill a Warlord Level 2 and Sending 375 K t11 i defeated the Warlord with 18k wounded.

It can be a little harder to get zero wounded on these bosses but is still doable with less troops that you used but with higher wounded of course

Trajan is better and is available in the tavern via refreshing it, therefore free players may obtain him. If you can't do that or don't want to try to get him, oda will still benefit your army just fine.

He is not worthwhile unless you are a non-spender and wish to join lots of rallies all day. He will save stamina but you can also join rallies with baibar or cleo for increased rewards instead.
