@@mharrtj6350 perfect electrics and regular electrics are two different things, a perfect electric can either be done with f,d,df,2 all grouped with no neutral input, another is kazuyas specific f,n,df electric as he has a free frame of neutral thanks to his mist step. I highly doubt a new player can do the grouped version with any mishima, especially if you play on pad rather than stick. They are not easy at all, but if you really can then take the execution and put it to good use. However many players spend hours a day training electrics as they do find them difficult, and its not just "oh i can do a few electrics" its all about consistently using that execution to electric in a match. Alot of ppl can pick up a controller and fluke one in 10 mins but never have the consistency that players like tmm, jdcr, qudans etc have without the training. This is why people are frustrated when there is just an "easy mode" for it.

They just altered the way you can play for other people; who generally don't use or dislike sticks, to be comfortable. CrossUp; however, allows you to pretty much button buffer your movement. What's even more insulting is the stick right next to it. The difference between the two is that the controller makes things "easier"; not "more comfortable". Hence, why Mishima players (and stick players) are pissed.

In the year 20xx taunt jet uppers, acid rain-blazing kicks and every just frame imaginable mapped to a single button will be legal. Leroy will still not be nerfed because everyone will be using pre-recorded combos mapped to labeled buttons on cabinets covered corner to corner with them. Now granted I do NOT know Tekken very well as I stopped playing a lot after Tekken 3/TTT but are "electrics" the "dragon punch" type moves (F > D > DF > F+button)? Granted I won't say I can do it flawlessly 93x in a row but it's certainly not as difficult as whats seeming to be implied (unless you are new to fighters anyway) I have more issues doing regular moves that require a direction mid combo than I do busting out any of those moves at any time. Or am I misunderstanding what moves "electrics" are or when it's being used?

Because its not the amount of buttons. It's the way Daigo's controller handles SOCD. It, unlike this one which sends neutral signals when l + r is input, gave the second input as priority. So with daigo's controller l + r equals r (or whatever input came second)

Dear Mainman, I need your wisdom as I am a fail of a Kazuya main... I've been playing Tekken "properly", or at least trying to, since Tekken 7 released and the pro scene got my attention, butI've been playing Tekken since T4 but never knew the true depth. Long story short I am forced to play arcade stick to my years of gaming have left my thumbs crippled, so I can't practice for long periods of time unless it's with my stick. I've had my stick for about 12 months and still feel like I picked it up yesterday, combos I can sorta get the hang of but it is the movement that hurts me the most. I've looked up so many different wavedash and backdash guides (your videos included) and I still cannot do either consistently, I can pull off the EWGF sometimes, I play on right side as you suggested. But my biggest issues is how do I hold the stick 😅 to perform movement in Tekken, when I see your videos of your hands playing, it's also so fast I can't phantom how, now do you pull off EWGF so quickly and so well, do you manually move the stick for all the inputs, or can you simply do the motion now with your hand like it's a reflect? I use the Razer Panthera like you. I'm honestly not sure what I'm asking, but as I love this game and your content I want to be able to play ranked and against my friends and enjoy the game

Doing electrics on controller is also very easy, by mapping the 2+3 input to L1, the game takes the input as 2 and since the the L1 button and the direction buttons are both on one side of the controller, only 1 hand is needed to perform the electric which makes it way easier than doing it using both hands

Yep, I do this as well, makes a huge difference. That being said, it still takes a ton of practice and isn't comparable to the cross-up. Pressing two buttons with the same hand at the same time is infinitely easier than pressing d with your thumb, then rolling to df and hitting a shoulder button with your index finger simultaneously.

@@timothyhall4794 You can do that in the PS4 accessibility menu which is mostly tournament legal. I'm also pretty sure simple hardware mods (i.e. no macros) are also legal. It was pretty common in SF4 days to move all your buttons one step right and swap the wiring of the original LP and select buttons so that you could plink light punches like any other button.

I understand how this is much easier on crossup than with a plain stick, but hit and mixboxes have a similar advantage there, right? Since pressing 2 buttons at the same time is a lot easier (even with 2 different hands) than timing stick + button. I've been playing on keyboard a lot before I got money for a stick (which is much more fun to play with imo, though Im worse at it) and created a similar advantage using 12! directional inputs (8 for my left hand, including uf/db etc + 4 extra next to my punch and kick buttons). Is keyboard considered cheating aswell? I dont think any controller should be banned, unless moves are fully automated (macro's) which is obviously cheating (although it would be comical to see someone play with a button for every single move ingame).

You actually can do something like this on a ds4 pad, If you change how you bind your directions. Sonic fox demonstrated this by switching his forward and back inputs to L2 and R2. You can very easily change this in the PS4 menu.

Horrible argument. You don't take hand placement into consideration at all. Plus a lot of hitboxes have 2 extra movement buttons just for that purpose alone, or any purpose, because they're moddable. With a pad you are always limited on number of buttons, even if you use both analog sticks you will never equal a mixbox or keyboard.

I thought about it, and it actually makes more sense to do ff with the stick, and d2 with the buttons at the same time as the second forward input. Less total motion with the stick and the same button pressed whether facing left or right. It'll require proper timing, or else a forward dash with come out instead, but nevertheless, the entire point of this device is to braindead inputs.

I don't understand the outrage this generated, this is such an "old man yells at cloud" moment. 1. Original Hitbox has already had this functionality and ease of use for a EWGF since 2012. The execution barrier has arguably been lowered for years now. 2. There are also already a ton of other peripherals on the market that essentially do this same thing, like the Mixbox which replaces the arcade stick with arrow keys. 3. Execution has arguably been trivialized for years anyway since Tekken came to PC. If you use keyboard for Tekken, then you essentially already have your own Hitbox/Crossup. 4. Execution =/= a better player. If some kid is tossing electrics, then he's gonna get blown up. Plus a beginner would still need to use movement and miles of knowledge of frame data to even pop up at locals. I get this notion that "it makes the playing field unfair" if you're using a default controller, but here's the thing. Few people are going to tournaments using one anyway, and arcade sticks already cost an arm and a leg.

Maybe removing the ability to move with both the d pad and the analog stick would fix the issue? But the issue of the hitbox remains, mainly sidestepping towards the foreground from crouching. If a mix/hitbox can do it, so should all controllers.

Tekken becomes easier to play when you play on any device capable of sending separate directional inputs. You can move the buttons around on a standard PS4 pad using the accessibility menu (tourney legal btw). Electrics are MUCH easier when you move U,D,L,R to the face buttons. a standard joystick lever, aka the thing Tekken was “designed around....” doesn’t have these “problems“ right, but isn’t he on a Mixbox? Doesn’t he promote them?

I don't get how people can argue that this isn't cheating. "Execution isn't everything" no, it's not. But when you make it stupidly easy and give yourself a competitive edge over someone not using this controller, you've now cut out one of the key aspects of this game. Now all you need to focus on is fundamentals, reactions, etc. We've seen this case with fariborz, where he's absolute garbage, despite macroing EWGF, but it wouldn't even be an available tool for him to use if he wasn't macroing. At this point, just make EWGF a d/f+2 move with the same frames, same damage, etc and tell me that it's fair.

Electrics-schmelectricks. Im more conserned about effortless KBD with this thing. 1) Hold back on the stick, 2) Tap the "down button" 3) Release back on the stick 4) Go To 1 5) Get a perfect backdash cancel every time with just two motions. This stick kinda breaks a lot of moves in the game.

I really don't like this controller because 2 directional sets is dumb, but people here are complaining about execution "hacks" that are already available and tournament legal. A hitbox can already do it easily without the second directional set. Most of these execution barriers have been destroyed for while now. It's just that the traditional stick people want to hold it as the staple legal controller, when it's actually just a cumbersome tool compared to what's available now.

I see both sides of the story though, I personally love execution in fighters but the argument is kinda like this: It would be bullshit if I had to do a double blackflip to move my Queen in Chess, would removing execution change fighters? Yes, it would make it all about the mental aspect of things, match up knowledge, spacing, distance to wall, setups, frame data etc would that be a bad thing? Possibly, possibly not, it could see a change to fighters we've never seen before, top 8 would solely be based on their skills in the mental game, it would turn fighters into Chess, now we already have chess so I don't want to see that happen and I enjoyed spending way more time than I should have in training mode practicing combos and electrics, my electrics are very consistent thanks to that, but a new zoomer kid goes out and buys one these boxes and immediately is at the same level or better than me with electrics, does that make me a bit salty and annoyed? Yeah, but if its accepted by the gaming communities/commissions of tournaments then we gotta just basically shut up and deal with it, times change, things change, rules change, we will see in due time what awaits our beloved fighting games

But you can also place the buttons on the Playstation so that you can do it with one hand. For example down to R2. You can also customize the buttons on Xbox and PC.

This is just BS, mishimas are hard to play due to execution on top of there individual weakness. This getting band is understandable. Then the game would be designed entirely around gamepads, which would pretty much force developers to make the execution of many moves considerably easier to make them as reliable as they are on stick. At that point, the people who still own a stick and manage to make it work will have an execution advantage on the same level of this controller. Which means the issue here is that developers didn't account for a type of control that, at the time of development, didn't exist. Now that it does, they can try designing the game around the fact that it also exists (like it was done with button mapping for simultaneous presses) or find another solution. It also begs the question: is the ability to perform EWGF reliably enough to improve the performance of a terrible player? If it is, then it might even be an issue of the game design since if the player is supposedly terrible then changing the controller inputs should not change the fact that they are a terrible player, and if it does then they were not a terrible player to begin with

I remember when they said leeroy had no execution this is true now that the Mishima execution is taken away. Uproar I spent years on electrics and I never felt the real clutch consistency I felt was needed to play Mishimas at a high level. Legit i would consider getting this. The problem is that I've been playing Tekken for decades. I can respect the dedication to takes to be a really consistent Mishima player. So I don't know I have mixed feelings.

@@serezha3442 most of the time the 2 is the problem,doing crouch dash is really easy what make it hard is the just frame you need to input df and 2 at the same time however if u use the same hand to input movement and the 2 it became significantly easier btw it it will not read the 3 if you do the crouch dash then l1

Tbf this is also possible on pad. You can do this by using Claw grip. Or.... By using the PS4's remapping feature (which is tournament legal since its an accessibility function). The Crossups are fine.
