You are correct. What i find funny is how many "you step in that mma gym to grapple you better be ready to DIE"-bros out here commenting that orlando did nothing wrong. First of all, mma gyms are for learning and fine tuning skills, not fighting. These guys get injured enough in the one fight they have all year, why would they train in a way that could hurt them? Secondly, hes a washed up steriod user who never had it in him to go pro in any major promotion, and obviously a bully pos. Thats what he is. That whole gym is funny to me, so many washed up losers in there working out.

That's not a submission. That's a finishing move. It is equivalent to what jones does with the oblique kick, but far more dangerous since this isn't a real fight, so you wouldn't expect that

Orlando snapped on a shallow underhook with full force and at high speed from a standing position, leaving no time to submit prior to it being potentially destructive to Sean's arm. The situations are not equal.

Yep. I’ve had both shoulders torn and my thumb broken by AH training partners. Experienced guys know when training it’s best to warm up and slowly increase the intensity. Some will take advantage of that kindness and it takes a lot of woosa to not beat the living tar out of them.

It's not my preferred style of engagement but I'd argue wrestlers typically end a fight pretty quick with locks and submissions. Once they get a good hold on you the fight is almost over, so dont let em take you down!

To explain it that particular movement is only used to force a hyperflexing of the elbow. It's a hellishly fight ending movement, I have used it a number of times but there's certain "submissions" that have no place in training, that is one of them. Problem is it's not an arm bar it's a fast upper body twist on the outside of the elbow. He pretended it was a submission which it would have been but for the violent twisting of upper body

Because you’re putting your health and trust into training partners’ hands. When someone intentionally breaks that trust and attempts to hurt you during *practice*, that is incredibly upsetting. Sean could have knocked this guy clean out and the community would have applauded. Even after the backfist and teep, Sean showed some incredible restraint.
