I have been training Hard Style Kung Fu Conditioning and old school Martial Arts training for 19 years and have been doing Martial Arts for 28 years. I currently also Train MMA with a special interest in BARE KNUCKLE.

Brett, I served U.S. Army Airborne-Airassault Light Infantry, taught hand to hand combat to elite soldiers, trained martial arts and combat sports since age four, including Filipino Latosa Escrima, and the most knife defense experience I ever got was while serving over a decade in a notorious violent U.S. prison where violence was always a blade culture. The best unarmed knife defenses, that worked for me in penitentiary gladiator school, was a mixture of wing tsun oblique low line kicks to create space, Okinawan bone to bone strikes using my conditioned ulna bone to attack their wrists, thumb joints, Israeli krav maga knife defenses and then strikes to neck & eyes followed by neck crank throws. Under duress the muscle memory always took over , so everything programmed into muscle memory, goes on autopilot under duress. I saw a buddy in 5th Group Special Forces, a Collegiate folk wrestling champion & Judoka, took a knife attacker's back, drove him face first into concrete and then bounced his face several times off the concrete til the knifer went limp. I witnessed a Muslim power lifter/ former pro boxer in prison use only boxing with weight lifting gloves on his hands defeat several knife armed prison gang members in a prison yard fight. He did bone conditioning and power lifting daily, trained his boxing on the heavy bag, and against multiple prison gang members armed with knives he used boxing footwork, angles, and strikes to knock out each attacker while keeping his back to a wall to prevent their flanking. Most attacks in the penitentiary are knife attacks. They even had small swords made from lawn mower blades. Ice picks. Folding buck 110 lockblade knives. Plexiglass shivs and steel shanks. You can't hold and control the weapon arm of a prison power lifter whose exponentially stronger so we don't try to grab & control their weapon hand. Many tied a knife to the dominate hand and attack using western boxing combos with footwork, as trained boxers, or they tie the knife to the dominate hand then grab and destabilise you with the free hand while stabbing you repeatedly w/the weapon hand while you're off balanced by kuzushi push-pull, pull-push, attack w/their free hand.
