Agreed with you! When this gameplay footage was shown, I was so hyped. But after playing it, I became weary of the combat and souls-likes in general. I want something new, something like Sekiro. In the credits of this game, I was there was no mention of Yamamura, the person responsible for Sekiro's top notch combat system. I hope he is busy cooking something really good for all of us.

Elden Ring lore when?

The only thing that dumbed down my hype was the same riposte animations and probably similar movesets for almost every weapons. What saves it though are the weapon arts and aerial attacks and spells (although I never play spell caster), but for a game that was delayed this long it really makes me question Fromsoftware and where most of their time is spent.
@hudinski9753 жыл бұрын
It was literally only delayed for a month, Cyberpunk was delayed for 8 months and still sucked. Fromsoft is making sure that Elden Ring doesn't.

@@hudinski975 this game has been in development for a while. And I’ve seen nothing but reused assets. One for one. The environments are sick asf but that’s a given from Fromsoftware.
@Diesel_Budgie3 жыл бұрын
@@knightslayer6161 That's probably your answer right there - the environment. Also RR Martin is involved, that alone probably delayed the project by a couple of years.

Ehh, there's a difference between Ubisoft making the same outpost-based climby shooty sneaky boom-boom thing every year, and what From does. I think because of the fantasy setting, From games are inherently more creative and interesting, and more valuable to players. Even if the gameplay is the same, at least there's gorgeous sights, new weird monsters and lore, and a world that can truly surprise you. In Far Cry it's the same semi-grounded visual flavour spread thin over an earthlike landscape.
@Butchimus3 жыл бұрын
The only difference is the spacing between releases on From's behalf. And I wouldn't say From's settings are inherently more creative. Valley of Defilement, Blighttown, The Gutter and Farron Keep is literally the same swamp area reused in 4 different games. And that's just one example
@Diesel_Budgie3 жыл бұрын
@@Butchimus I get that there are tropes in From's worlds as well. But my main point is that generally, From's worlds have much, much more potential to surprise you, both visually and with level design. They're also highly polished to feel like real places, where many other open worlds are a meek backdrop for mindless quests. I think that's why people tend to give them a pass, because at least there's great exploration to be had.

I agree ☝🏻

@@Diesel_Budgie I don’t think it has much potential to surprise rather. It will always look good. But FUNDAMENTALLY all these locations operate the same way. Time for more swamp memes and skeleton dungeons. Yay. Not saying it doesn’t look awesome. the design may look different but no matter where you are. They aren’t all that different from the older games. I don’t necessarily have a problem with that though. My problem is there are…SO MANY reused animations and sounds. It’s a bit depressing.
