If she planned to surprise me on our wedding day, wouldn’t she have known the baby was mine? Unless she was doing the deed with someone else during that time 🤔

Wow, this lady is crazy. Cheated on her fiancé with another man, ditching the wedding, accusing him of assault in front of everyone, draining them of their money, attacking Laura 2x, and even getting OP's entire family to turn on him. Im appalled she's still not behind bars for at least a good 9-10 years after all she's done to OP's life. This made me suspicious, too. You have to have all parties involved in order to get a DNA test. The only other way is to get a family member to take a family relatedness test, but even that wouldn’t make the kid 99.99% his. Just that the kid is related to him. Could be a cousin.

Which my father told me before he passed no one else knew about it . He said I would know what to do if there was a fight about the will . I guess he knew how greedy the rest of the family was . So when the will was read they weren’t happy , so it went on for years finally I got tired of all the BS so I did what he told me I contested the will . All his money went to charity . In which I was happy . I guess he knew in his heart that I would do the right thing . OP you are a brave woman to stand up and get away from all the drama . Many blessings to your future

Ok, the people has spoken about the 3 inconsistances in this story: 1. the DNA test. How can Emily reappear after 10 years with a child and an already done DNA test proving he's OP's son? 2. If there was CCTV at the venue on the wedding day, why, why... oh why didn't OP check the footage during that time (10 years ago) to find out what really happened to Emily? Was she abducted or ran away? Yeah, she ran away... with another man. 3. How Jack willingly chose to go into a facility is also a bit weird. If the parents are unable to care for the child, a child protective organisation will take the child under protective custody (OP has no say in that. he's NOT the father after all) and will place them with relatives able and willing to look after them and as a last resort foster care or group home. The child doesn't get to choose. This and some other questions could have easily exposed Emily's story as a bunch of bolony from the start. Did she report the abduction to the police? Was the man arrested?

I may be shamed/unfavorable opinión on this As for Jack, I think they did the right thing by him. Let me explain. I have a nephew who went through a similar situation. Just the addict was mom. So was ordered to get a drug test by family court. Her drug levels were so high it was not readable on the chart. Dad is a long haul trucker. He wasn't home when the courts called him to go get his son from school so his mom went to get him Dad had a young girlfriend. He was in his 30s and she was in her late teens. My nephew was given to family members to raise. Sadly he just got into extremely serious legal trouble a few months ago. He's now 18 and is court supervised for next 2 years. Because he was 17 when he committed the crime, his record will be sealed when done. If he stays out of trouble. None of us are taking this lightly as he followed in his dad's footsteps for a girlfriend. Believe me he was not raised that way. He was brought up with the church, good home, lots of love etc. I know this as I have known the family for most of my life, over 40 years. The daughter has been my best friend since we went to the same church as kids and her mom was my Sunday school teacher. His bio dad was an addict, so not a safe environment for him. Emily was disturbed mentally as well as very manipulative. So also not safe. Talking it out as a couple was the right thing to do. Giving Jack, even though he was 9, a choice and say in his own care and what he wanted was the right thing to do. Putting him in a group home/foster care was listening to his wishes. They didn't just abandon him either. They paid for his care and visited him on a regular basis. Jack knew he had a support system and people who did care about him.

I dont think it was foster care. Op says they paid his dues so I'm assuming it was some sort of boarding school.

Maybe it's just me, but I might have adopted Jack. After all he's innocent in all of this mess.

When she was arrested, CPS would have been called. It's not up to them to place the child. And what do they mean pay dues for the child? Is it a boarding school? I don't buy it. Also bluffing is not illegal

Wouldn’t the kid go to a grandparent or aunt or uncle. Family first before a kids home

I get why people write their stories on Reddit instead of getting it publish, their story has more plotholes than the story of the villain, Emily here. - DNA test without giving DNA? - CCTV camera after a decade, but never bothered to look at it back then? -CCTV in a dressingroom? And that is stored for a decade? - Emily didn’t bother going to the police? - OP and his wife have zero say in what happens to Emily’s kid. That is CPS, they aren’t even going to be asked or informed about what they want with the kid he isn’t related too. - Just asking kid birth certificate would have solved all stuff, and again that is police job not their job. - Father not missing wife/kid but also not in legal trouble for not paying child support? - Not informing wife as soon as you got DNA result - Having everyone come over for the CCTV camera showing? Like this is some big gotcha moment from a movie? Like OP said, Emily story had plotholes, but the writer had bigger plotholes in his fantasy story. Will never get published.

I agree with how OP handled this situation and how they took care of Jack.

The dna test sounds sus as she wouldn't need one if Emily knew it was his plus where would she get his dna from as you usually need to spit into a vile. Also I don't think a hotel/wedding venue would keep cctv from 10 years ago. I'm sorry to pick it apart but I think child services would have taken Jack and fostered him to a family rather than going to pick a children's home for him. I still listened as I wanted to here how it ended.

OP, why didn't you check the CCTV ten years ago instead of going all crazy? Think of all the pain it would have saved you. Why didn't you record your conversation when she admitted her crime. Really don't k own what to say about you except it great you are taking care of the boy.

I hear and see red flag after red flag but to just bury your head in the sand and ignore them is quite foolish. And to ever believe such a story of abduction and being captive. Lol. The police would be involved. You dare tell your caring wife to go to her room? She deserves to see and here and be involved in everything. Pulls out a fake DNA paper ? Then let her move in? What a total idiotic move and idea.

Many plot holes in this work of fiction.. why didn’t they check the security cameras after the wedding? And how did they still have the footage 10 years later? How did she already have a DNA test done? How was OP allowed to decide where the kid lived?
