It's not often you see the ex-wife ordered to pay alimony, but it *does* happen. The egregiousness of this case isn't that the ex-wife was paying alimony, it's that the douchebag ex-husband thinks he's entitled to more than he already gets. The same as it would be egregious if the genders were reversed.

You don't know anything about them or the circumstances surrounding the alimony. It's possible that she got the house and compensated him via these payments. Anything like that could have happened. You see $1400 and assume she gets nothing he gets all that. There absolutely will be a reason for it.

The plaintiff calculated from the date of the divorce filing and not the date of the actual divorce. JJ wanted only the amount from the final divorce date so the plaintiff had to reconfigure.
