Right not only at school but in the way we look at future, in my school they said that workfield have decreased and competition is harder now, outside the school everyone said that without school we cant do anything. Its like my family more comfort when i am at school even though i only sleep at class compared when i study with my handphone at home they always not belive that i am study and look at me like i am a lazy man.

I completely agree with how stress can effect studying. However, for me personally, it is a lot more difficult to relax. What works for me is surrounding myself with friends or family while I am studying so if I need to, I can look away from my work for a moment and have my friends cheer me on. It's a nice feeling. Like having a cheer squad in front of you.

I think that goals are important to having a fulfilling life. Trying to not have goals will just drive you mad. Every little thing that happens becomes more relevant since you have nothing in particular to look forward too and you wind up highly stressed by the most trivial things. But if you have goals that you commit yourself to you don't have to feel so strongly for anything that is irrelevant to your success for your goals. This primitive response is only useful for short-term dangers, not long-term dangers such as failing to succeed at a goal. Remind yourself of that and learn through focusing on your breathing and posture and by practicing meditation to shut down or at least reduce the amygdala response when it isn't helpful. Think things through far in advance so that you can remind yourself that you have plenty of time and so there's no point in feeling afraid as long as you stay on task. Slow and steady wins the race. Slow yourself down so you think more and flesh out a problem for the best solution.

I believe that one must fix the goals by making a daily routine for each and every day.But at the same time,one should take short breaks in between the working hours to stop overstressing the brain.It's like using the ping-pong theory which is discussed in one of the previous videos for learning something effectively.

I am sure these amusing lessons will armour ourselves with knowledge against our deep seated negative emotions. I love the way the storyboards demonstrate the manifestation of so many familiar emotions and behavioral traits. Knowledge is in era-change. Sprouts is contributing predominantly in that. I grew up with a very mentally ill mother and unhelpful teachers, so to get through school I memorized and regurgitated everything. Unfortunately with this method I got excellent grades, so there were no red flags that there was a problem. I am currently trying to go back and actually learn the subjects, but I can not think straight and feel panic. It is like a brick wall in my brain, refusing to think about the easiest of subjects.

Can you teach us more relaxation techniques for "permanent exam anxiety" if you can??? that would be really awesome,,, been struggling with this ever since i heard that i need to prep for a graduate school entrannce exam... the stress is real and it affects behaviors and the whole person... because of this anxiety, i can't even open my textbook and study, my heart rate is always high every time i think about the exam... i am tryinng to breath and what not... but they don't reallly seem to fix the root issue of exam fear... hope you can help with any insights you got on this ...

We shouldt either apply pressure under goals or free our minds from goals. We should do something in between. There are many experiements about productivity and goals that show that when the person is 100% free, he got procrastinating and the people with goals did the job. But there are also experiments showing that when we are free to approch the problem on our own, the results are better. If you guys from Sprouts want to learn more about this, I suggest you to watch a video from TED Talk. The Puzzle of motivation by Dan Pink.

I have have this exam which I've been failed for 2times,Thank you for breath trick I'm gonna use it this time cause I get terribly confuse and stressful condition make me panic every time, I was an easy going person with studying and I agree with the point that less pressure more learning (cause of free mind u get),but it seems it doesn't work for the exams and the situations like it, but also this time I've been putting my self under pressure I'll let you know the result of my little experiment of my self as a person. IMO some stress is helpful. When I exercise, I believe I benefit when I stress my body somewhat without pushing to its limit. I think mental stress works in a similar way. Some stress can be beneficial, but it can set you back if you take on too much at once. Also, as with physical conditioning, it's good to know what kind of shape you're in, what areas need work, and so on.
@sprouts7 жыл бұрын
good point. maybe its the balance.
@dyetaa5 жыл бұрын
Stress has no benefit to the brain.Physical stress is different from the mental stress.There is a tress beneficial for the mind.For example when you go skydiving or bungee jumping.You get stressed,your adrenaline is pumping,heart rate increasing but it feels good afterwards because it is quicklt released and you want to do those activities again.Watching horror movies has a similar effect.I forgot the benefits but you can google distress vs eustress

whilst I do find that fear of failure stops me from studying effectively I have to say in those two weeks before exams I force myself to study and I learn loads. I think we Aldo need the pressure to focus our minds. flow= pressures / resistance. if resistance is our fear of failure the pressure of an exam can push down on our fears and then we can create a good flow of studying.

from experience, iam in the middle of my term exams, last week i'd two exams one had 3 days before and the other had a week. the goal is to succeed for both exams. the exam which had one week before i was able to understand the theories and principles and connect them to the problems, the other that had three days i couldn't do the same. after this video iam able to put the reasons why i failed in the last one are studying under pressure to finish more which led to tunnel view and made me not able to solve advanced problems as i did in the first one. so i prefer to study freely, but somehow when i feel this freedom i dont know what to do 😅 thanks for making this video and the other videos as well. (note: i study engineering😂)

Hi! Very nice and informational videos. I really like the presentation. I am confronted also with these questions in mind, do I need to follow a strict plan of activities or do I need to feel lax on my schedule so that I can perform well? Based on my experience, I always have a plan of activities for the day, that is my plan and another column for the things that I have actually done. There is a huge difference mainly because I do not always stick to my plan so I tend to be unhappy sometimes. But there are times also that I put in my mind that I need to be flexible because I cannot hold or control my external environment or the circumstances why I cannot finish the tasks that I have planned. I would appreciate if you could give me insights if what I am doing is somewhat right or wrong? Thanks a lot!
