@@Thaqlain Very good read so far! He does a very good job of making the Mahdi’s occupation intelligible to Sunnis. He talks about prophets who had long lives, and other Muslim communities who believed people like Enoch were still alive.

We know from Bukhari : 7222, 7223 ; that there were 12 divinely appointed leaders/Imams. In surah Baqarah, verse 124 Allah say no zalim (including unjust) will be an imam. All of the muslim rulers except for the shia Imams were cruel and unjust. Also Abu dawood : 4282-4284 shows that the prophet pbuh said that the mahdi (final of the 12) will be from my line and from the descendents of Lady Fatima a.s. These show that the imams are from the prophets lineage. Bonus : the names of Imams were foretold by the prophet (al kafi : chapter 126; hadith 1391)

There’s no such thing in the Bokhari . I suggest you read the narrations . Only Shias believe in that . For example in one of these narrations it says that the Rafidi believes there are 12 imams . But clerics like that delete the first two words in the narration ( Rafidi believe)

It does make sense that some would combine all types of valid leaders after Prophet Muhammad. If the rope taken up was broken and picked up by two and Ahl Bayt had a father and two sons, if would make more sense that those were the successors.

11:45 - 14:07 The Qur'an affirms answers through The Torah in Surahs 3:119, 10:94, 16:43, 21:7, 34:31. Surahs 2:132-134, 3:84, 4:163, affirm the 12 Imams, and the 13th. This is the nation which passed away, the one which first received Islam via Imam Ali. 14:08 - 17:55 Although the 12 have passed away they continue in the afterlife as judges, as do the 12 of Yeshua ben Miriam who assumedly succeeded the 12 from Jacob. Saying they will not separate is proof in itself of the 13th Imam who comes in the end of days even as the 12 continue as judges.

Is it that Yasir Qadhi, Mufti Menk, Aasim Hakeem, Zakir Naik and the rest have not come across these hadiths or they just lack the wisdom to acknowledge that these 12 refers to the Imams of Ahlulbayt or they’re just hypocrites seeking the worldly fame and gains. It’s just a question. May Allah continue to misguide those who refuse to be guided.

I am Shia myself, and I will tell you that the 12 Imams is a false and have nothing to do with authentic hadiths. The only authentic is the fact that Quran and Ahlulbeit will never separate until the day of judgment. Those interested in finding this truth must search for it.
