◾Lowering the Gaze◾ Ibnul Qayyim رحمه الله mentioned in his Book "The Disease and the Cure": It is implementing the command of Allāh, which is the utmost bliss for the slave in his life and his Hereafter. So, there is nothing for the slave in his worldly life and his Hereafter, more beneficial than implementing the commands of his Lord, the Blessed and Most High. And there is no bliss in this worldly life and the Hereafter except by implementing His commands and there is no wretchedness in this worldly life and the Hereafter except by neglecting His commands. Shaykh 'Abdurrazzāq Al-Badr explains this point by saying: This lowering the gaze is the core and the essence of the matter, which is that it is act of worship to gain nearness to Allāh. This is because lowering the gaze is an act of obedience to Allāh , implementing the command of Allāh. So whoever lowers his gaze for the sake of Allāh, then this is an act of worship to gain nearness to Allāh that Allāh will reward him tremendously for, by rectifying his heart and making it free from evil and different types of diseases. So, from the benefits of lowering the gaze and not unleashing it is that it is implementing the command of Allāh. "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things..." (24:30) "Tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things)..." (24:31) This is what He has commanded with. So, if the individual lowers his gaze, then this is an act of obedience from him towards his Lord and Master. Bārak Allah Fīkum

From now on, when I see someone who looks women down, I would be ok with it. Because I know they are doing it out of ignorance.

Khawlah bint Tha' labah a whole chapter revealed for her: Surah Al mujadilah 58:1 Certainly has Allah heard the speech of the one who argues with you, [O Muhammad], concerning her husband and directs her complaint to Allah . And Allah hears your dialogue; indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing. _________________________ Umar bin Al khattab and khawlah bint Tal'abah radiAllaahu anhuma Umar Ibn al-Khattâb. She met him one day outside the mosque, when al-Jârud al-'Abdi was with him. 'Umar, who was the caliph at that time, greeted her, and she said to him, "O 'Umar, I remember you when you were called 'Umayr (little `Umar) in the marketplace of 'Ukaz, taking care of the sheep with your stick. So fear Allah in your role as caliph taking care of the people, and know that the one who fears the threat of punishment in the Hereafter realizes that it is not far away, and the one who fears death fears missing some opportunity in this life." Al-Jarud said, "You have spoken too harshly to the Emir of the Believers, woman!" 'Umar said, "Let her be. Do you not know that this is Khawlah, to whose words Allah listened from above the seven heavens? By Allah, 'Umar should by rights listen to her." Ibn Kathir mentions in his tafsir that a man said to 'Umar, when he saw him welcoming her warmly and listening to her, "You left a man of Quraish and came to listen to this old woman?" 'Umar said, "Woe to you! Do you not know who this is?" The man said, "No." 'Umar said, "This is a woman whose complaint Allah listened to from above the seven heavens: this is Khawla bint Tha'labah. By Allah , if she did not leave me until night fell, I would not tell her to leave until she had got what she came for, unless the time for prayer came, in which case I would pray, and then come back to her until she had got what she came for."
