Unfortunately there is no backup exit.. the only possible is with a donkey cart over the bridge 😂 But the water level is much lower than back in the days, so maybe there will be no flooding anymore.. let’s hope the best 😅

We do not want to harvest the cork anymore, because the oaks will be no longer fire resistent.. We are not sure about this, but for sure not in the next years

Remember, the village where you’re or surrounded provides weekly night Portuguese language school for foreigners, ask around. Also use in any necessity use speak option from Google translation, always better than don’t understand what both sides are saying 😂

This is so clever. Some things are SO much better done by the "professionals". Getting proper roads and trails in early will save you SO much time I have seen sp many youtubers carrying stuf by hand and then everythin takes 10 times the time and after a few years they have gotten "nowhere"

You could raise goats as a natural way to prevent the growth of bushes like the people did back in the day. There are money from the EU to help and from Portuguese gov. It would be a money saver because you will have wooll, milk and can produce cheese, and as a bonus you will be safer from forest fires

Goats are funded on the one hand to clean the land and on the other hand to give an sustainable income 🌱 We will post an update about that project soon because we see there are a lot of people interested in the topic of fire prevention 💪🏽☺️

Monchique launched a project called „green corridor“ that helps the people to get rid of all the invasive trees and plants. We signed up to this project and hope to get some help with these trees, because it is absolutely impossible to do it ourselves 🌿

@@Montinho_Monchique … Eucalyptus is a beech! And yes it is invasive but some landowner were very happy to feed the paper pulp industry (as well as eucalyptus side products) with this highly inflammable high-water-consuming very-fast-growing tree.
