I love watching your almost daily post. I’ve been a subscriber for about a year now. I have a small excavation company in the Austin Texas area. We have a family farm with a gravel pit and Caliche (for pad work) that we sell. Again, I have really learned a lot from watching your videos and look forward to your post almost daily.

Great videos Chris! Have you ever found anything interesting when clearing? I once was clearing 9 acres of honeysuckle and maples in an expensive suburban neighborhood and found a 1968 Chevy Impala. We called the police, but they found no body. It didn’t appear very wrecked like from a crash, but far from any road. When they hauled it out, a neighbor told use a teenager went missing near there in the early 70’s. We never heard any more about it...

That nieghbour is going to have firewood for a couple of years or three by the look of it saves you hauling and he has heating win win situation.
@MrScotttraynor5 жыл бұрын
but doesnt firewood have to "aged" ie; cant be used for a year?
@eagleknight27015 жыл бұрын
@@MrScotttraynor Yes, it should be seasoned down to 20% or less moisture content. It depends of the type of wood too for how long it takes to dry. Most wood will dry out in a year if split, but Oak can take longer.

Kinda relaxing watching somebody else doing the work! As a excavating contractor myself, curious about the economics of the work you do in NC? How much a hour for your machinery, operators etc? If you were on my crew you'd be a $50.00 dollar an hour guy, your uncle would be a $20.00 dollar an hour guy, after some remedial training of course(lol)!!!

22 years ago, we had a potato processing shed. The number threes went by dump truck to the neighbor dairy. the cows like the potatoes. I took a load over and forgot to check the tailgate to see if it was locked. it wasn't. it only opened 3 inches, but I left potatoes all over the road all the way there.

Concrete blocks, shopping carts, baby strollers, toilets, sinks mattress springs and what ever else you could think of. Made for a lot of flat tires and cussing who hired me.
