Cntl and Shift + Space to highlight columns and rows and Cntl + / - to insert and delete a column or row were probably the top shortcuts I learned here. I also like Cntl + 1 to bring up the formatting dialog. Thanks Heinrich

Awesome video! Excel shortcuts are my thing, so I can also recommend alternative way to populate content with formula downwards or to the right. Ctrl + D will populate the range with the content of first cell at the top. Ctrl + R will populate the range with first cell on the left.

Another quick way to copy values is actually just to paste them (Ctrl+V) then directly after hit Ctrl so that the little context menu for pasting options opens, then move two times down and hit enter. Literally takes less than a second :) Works the same with other special paste modes (formatting only, transpose etc.)
@FirmLearning3 жыл бұрын
Hi Babo, yes this indeed sounds like a great option as well :) Thanks for sharing! Best, Heinrich
@yamani9993 жыл бұрын
Indeed, although I find faster to press Ctrl to open the context menu, and then pressing V (shortcut for Value). Saves you a couple of clicks
@katerynazinovska22953 жыл бұрын
Thanks for a very resourceful video! For the avg. price, there must be even faster way (not sure if it works on Windows tho, I am a Mac user), by calculating the first row, then just double click the small square in the bottom right corner of the cell with the avr price you got and it will automatically count all the cells below by same formula till end of existing table.
@FirmLearning3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kateryna, sure this works, though in general you want to avoid using the mouse :) Thanks for watching! Best, Heinrich

Do you also have a "cheat sheet" with an overview of the shortcuts? Or is the proper way to just get a tattoo with them?

Hallo Heinrich, thanks once again for the informative content! Given that I'll be starting my first Consulting internship in August, your videos are the perfect preparation for an optimal first impression there. Are you thinking about making a full Excel online course? I'd be interested in that. LG, Darius

Hi Darius, that sounds great, hope you will have a great experience at the internship! Yes indeed thinking about it but will probably still take some time until it is completed (a bit swamped with my "regular" work at the moment..). hello, can you do a formulas video? And other than vlookup or hlookup or indexmatch or various IFs (showing nested IFs would be cool! Use it all the time in my projects altho pivot tables more most part can do similar things). Very curious to what other more niche formulas you'd be sharing

Great video Heinrich 🙌🏻... What's the scope of Tableau and Power BI in consultancy compared to excel?
@FirmLearning3 жыл бұрын
Hi Apurva, it is sometimes used (personally saw Tableau more often than PowerBI), though as most clients do not use it, Excel is still the lowest common denominator which is therefore still most frequently used! Best, Heinrich

Hi, das hängt davon ab was genau du machst. Die Details der Regelungen sind auch je Land unterschiedlich. Wenn du umfangreichen finanziellen Support in Anspruch nimmst musst du für einige Zeit wieder kommen, aber deutlich kürzer als in den meisten Programmen von Banken oder so. LG, Heinrich
