Excel Tutorial | Copy Excel Sheet To Another Excel File Without Losing Formatting Or Layout.

I want to share with you a question from a subscriber. How to copy a worksheet It is going back to basics. They needed to take one worksheet from a sales workbook and create another workbook with just that one worksheet. They previously had been making a copy of the workbook and then deleting the extra unnecessary worksheets they did not need.
There is a quick and easy way to do this:-
Right Click on the Worksheet Tabs
Select Move Or Copy
In the Drop Down selection box select (new book)
Tick the Create A Copy to copy the worksheet to a new workbook
Hit Ok.

Great video! I was doing things the hard way. Question? What if you have multiple months (Jan thru December) and want to copy the months all in one new spread sheet and have tabs for each new month?

I've been doing this for years but yesterday I was working on two different files and copied many of the tabs from one to the other to create a template for my notebooks. Today I came to print my new copied tabs and 1. the column width had changed for bigger and the row height, even though the same as the original, no longer fits my paper, as in ~3/4" longer. Any ideas what's happening. Oh, there's been an update to my computer too.

Try this. Select whole column you want to copy.-Control +C. Select your workbook and destination column in your new worksheet, then hit CTRL+V. This will paste the contents into your new worksheet. Hope that helps.

Try to copy the data source worksheet that holds your validation if it is in a list. Mine copied across fine to a new worksheet, along with drop down. Is your validation list in another worksheet?

Changes to workbooks can be seen on the online 365 version of Excel. Also, the author of the workbook maybe in the file details. Is this the type of data you are concerned about?
