I loved the performance. Hope to watch her performance in person. Great that NACC invited her and people of other part of the country got a glimpse of how scintillating our traditional art can be. Only a small point, in this version the Garuda movements seemed to have changed. I was astonished the way she made Garuda come alive in the stage of varadaraja festival! Also the lighting changes during the performance is not preferable.

Every time this item is presented, it appears to be quite different from the earlier one. Is it just my imagination or is this item being improvised all the time continuously? If only we get to see the full recital one more time, after all these improvisations!!!

Hi Aachi. Harinie Akka is presenting the same piece tmrw at Kanchipuram temple during the Brahmotsavam. The artist taking the art to meet the poseur. What more can one ask for? I had followed all her updates from she visiting the Kachi temple and rehearsals of VU, last year. It's so amazing! IDK why, but this gives me so much joy of being a rasika. Yes, I too spotted so many improvisations. It's so surreal, everytime ❤

Is there anything I can say about Varadarājam Upāsmahē? She gave a scintillating performance! She has changed so much from the premiere show of Varadarājam Upāsmahē'! Hopefully, I will be able to watch this in person one day. It is His Grace that makes everything possible! 4.42 is the ragam Charukeshi?

This was recorded on a phone I think. No professional camera crew. It's shot from the top row of the Cube theatre of NMACC over the heads of viewers. The lighting was excellent for in-person viewing. I was there in the first row 😂 so I know.

Agreed. It's just NMACC's Cube theater is meant for enjoying intimate performances. The audience sit close to the dance floor, just two feet from it. The Cube theater is not meant for and has no facilities for recording using professional equipment. Compare this phone recording to the excerpts from Varadarajam Upasmahe premiere in Naradha gana Sabha last August. That auditorium is large, has professional equipment and the video recording has tons of close up shots capturing her abhinayam so well

Not in a proper way of recording..... Very long long way of shooting / recording Neither facial expressions, foot acts nor costumes, postures can be visible to enjoy. Ofcourse choreography, music can. Much to disappointment.....never seen from your end.
