While this book does suffer from middle book syndrome Im glad I read it and am looking forward to the next book!

Great review, agree with all your thoughts. You make a good point about Inara & Skedi making up rather quickly throughout the book, I kept feeling like I skipped a page or that their disagreements were resolved in their respective heads rather than the page for us readers. Exicted to see where they all end up in the third!

I've just finished this myself and feel exactly the same. You've pretty much nailed all my thoughts, it leaves a lot of potential for the third book to be amazing, but this one did drag and suffer from those 'middle book' issues.

Really enjoyed this review! Totally agree it's a shame Kissen wasn't so active in this. My favourite part of the book though was the battle for Lesscia, I thought that was done in a really compelling way

I loved Godkiller, but this one took me a long time to read. I really only enjoyed the last 50 pages or so. Still excited for the 3rd!

Agree with a lot of things you mentioned. Wish there was more of Kissen. Elo and Inara with their vengeful ways was totally lost on me. The characters didn't feel the same in this book.

Got a 3rd through and had to put down for something else. It was making me fall into a slump. I would have liked a big kick off from the last book, but didn't get it. I'll pick it back up, but had to take a break. 😔
