So with the general national vote collapse of the Tories you'd be looking at something like a 40 point prospective majority in a London seat. It's very rare for an ex-MP - even one treated as shabbily as Jeremy - to win against an official party candidate. He will come far closer than most. Ironically his best chance of being re-elected would have been if Labour were doing badly in the national polls as the official party's vote would be much lower and he would benefit from a "protest vote". It's possible there might be a surge of support for him in the final week as voters realise the value of retaining him.

Strange analysis, to say that people are not aware enough regarding Labour and Corbyn is silly, People are voting Labour, yes to get the Tories out, but also because they want change. Coming from a Working Class background where there was not much money to go around I feel very let down by the far left and the Corbyn years. Under his watch we had Austerity, Brexit and Boris Johnson. He obviously was not the instigator but a feeble opposition towards the damage that the Tories inflicted upon the country.

Corbyn was wrong on Brexit and his desire to be PM gave us a Tory landslide result in 2019, but the treatment he received from Starmer was wholly unwarranted.

Not knocking JC, at all; I love the guy, hate Starmer, and this corrupt incarnation of the Labour party... but; in the 40 odd years that Jeremy Corbyn has been MP for Islington North, surely him and his team have had access to the Labour party's constituency records, polling data etc.? Maybe not the most recent data, since Sir Kid Starver has been purging the Left and keeping Jezza on the backfoot, but surely some records must have been emailed across, copied on to a USB, printed off, or at least scribbled in a notepad? This talk of starting "completely from scratch" sounds implausible... Like, a salesman that's been at a company for 40 years, and been pushed out suddenly; he may not have the current login details, but if he's worth his salt; he'll still have a record of his key accounts... Mango-Mussolini got caught by the FBI with stacks of boxes of classified documents in his effin' crapper, and he was a one termer, and an imbecile! We know Jez is a bit of a boy scout, but please say he's got something up his sleeve!?

@RevolutionaryVision-pc3gw I mean data that the Labour party, and their associated office, staff and elected MP held access to, as freely given to their elected & supported MP. I'm talking, a spreadsheet of email addresses and mobile numbers of people that willingly signed up for a mailing list at the last "Jam & Butternut Squash community fundraiser sale" at the Most Honourable member for Islington North's allotment... not Deepthroat's recordings from bleeding Watergate!

@RevolutionaryVision-pc3gw Well it should be illegal for the Labour Party to use given that the form and stance of the Labour Party has changed completely since the data was handed over.

A canvasser for JC I know said that many don’t know that he is standing as an Independent as @adamblair3135 says (below) and Labour has been out in force on the ground in Islington North. By rights he should win, he’s a popular respected MP Locally and Nationally, I really hope he wins. What was done to him in 2019 by the mainstream media and by the Labour Party was shameful!

As a progressive all my adult life I've always been a big fan of JC . I also beleive he would've been the best PM this country never had . However , standing as an independent is a big mistake and can only harm the Labour Party . His age is against him as he's well into his seventies and it would be best for him to retire with dignity .

This poll turned out to be fortuitously widely innacurate of course, since it showed Labour ahead 14 points but the reality was the reverse! What happened here…

The Labour party had to get rid of Corbyn, they were unelectable with him as leader.Power is at the centre of British politics, like it or not.

only cos Starmet was stabbing Corbyn and Johnson was full of porkies and the media didnt like Corbyn ( actual for some reasons Corbyn "over explained" some stuff and didnt make other good policies clear)

The current Labour Party is not centrist. They are right-wing. They are in the pockets of the rich. Support bombing children. Will sell policy to the highest bidder as the tories do. Will use GB energy to give away public money to the energy companies. Will privatise the NHS further. What is centrist about that? Corbyn is a centrist. It's only because the public opinion controlling press in this country is right-wing off the deep end that they've corrupted the term centrist.

Some anti-Tory voters there don't realise that the Tory candidate is NOT a threat. We should go and help spread the word there. Besides, this survey was answered by only a few hundred voters. There's still a chance for JC.
