I think there was a lot of great amateur boxers that even did not try to switch to professionals mostly because they had not believed in the possibility to overcome commercial obstacles. For an example, Gaidarbek Gaidarbekov (GG), which easily dismantled to peaces GGG (Golovkin).

I like that Beterbiev says the boxing is more important than the knockouts. He uses his boxing skill to get the stoppages. His has this reputation as a brawler and his boxing skill is overlooked by many. Yarde is getting brutally stopped.

Gvozdik said that the power of Beterbiev is overrated, but the skill is essentially underrated. Bivol said approximately the same. Anyone can look at Btr amateur statistics 295-5, the most of 5 (!!!) losses was in fights with Usik in the unnatural for Beterbiev weight category (cruiser). Beterbiev was forced to go to this category by Russian Federation sport authorities.

Everyone writing off Yarde. Yarde is a under rated counter puncher, the only opponents that have given Yarde problems are fighters with a long crisp jab. All due respect, beterbiev ain't got a jab. All we have to judge Yarde on, at this level, is the Kovalev fight. To me, the tactics looked non-existent in that fight. He emptied the tank at the wrong time and paid the price. Prior to this, for 8 or 9 rounds, whilst he was being outpointed, Yarde was still very composed, under no pressure and Kovalev clearly respected his speed and power. Let's not forget, Yarde had fought NOBODY prior to this.. only his 19th fight.. and in Russia! He's a smart guy, he will have learned a lot from that fight. And Beterbiev has been on his arse in 2 different fights, so he's no phantom, he's taking punches and he's going to take punches. I give Yarde a good chance, underdog mentality, all to play for!!! COME ON ANT 🥊
