The city needs to start paying attention when landlords are taking advantage of people who are low income residents and I agree with this single mom raising two daughters by hersel, I lived with my mother In low income houses and landlords don't do nothing but puck up rent money buying new cars and news for their selfish needs.

they took on too many projects. the CEO raised so much money and went on a buying spree. Buildings like this need to be torn down and rebuit, or at least gutted to the studs. Redo all MEPs. It's 100+ years old and the last owner let it go. It's impossible to keep patching a 100 year old building while the tenants are still living there.

So typical of most of the under $2000 a month rentals in Los Angeles. These developers get money from the different programs and federal/local/state/County funds used to combat deplorable conditions such as these. It's only going to get worse, until people start making city, state, federal politicians aware that they won't vote for them.

A tenant shouldn't have to do any repairs but they should get Habit for Humanity to give them some donated paint, caulk guns with tubes, and some other basics just to make it somewhat livable for the children while they wait for repairs. Must be some org that can get them mattresses and find an exterminator. Or an attorney that can do a class action for damages.
