Lost my grandmother in October, 2016. I remember showing her Disturbed's performance of the Sound of Silence on Conan O'Brian one day. She had her own laptop and browsed Facebook a fair bit, even though she was in her late 70's. Later, I heard her watching it again and she said "Yeah, I watch it every time I see it pop up again, he's got a great voice". I remember in my head laughing my ass off, because here's this stuffy English woman watching Disturbed. I wasn't even that familiar with them, but I knew they were mostly heavy metal and the heaviest thing I've heard her play was the Beatles. I think she would've enjoyed this album, because there are quite a few acoustic ballads. Haters can say what they want about it being 'too soft', but I disagree. This is very sweet and refreshing.

Yep, i am 67 as of Oct. 20th, 2023. Been a Disturbed fan since day one and even before 9/11 i found that the lyrics in alot of their songs had something positive even though the songs may be forbodding or even intimadating. But yeah, even though i hate wine the anology is fitting. But you can get that from whiskey too🤣 David is a very compassionate and introspectfully astute lyricist. What i like most that in the early days on their tours, you knew very well that David could beat your ass with words or his fists. And now that they are older, mellower and very socially sensitive, and his kindness is often displayed at shows,...you kinda know this compassionate man can still bust you up if you're a dick at one of his shows🤣

I lost the love of my wife in May of 2020. We'd been together on and off for 25 years, since I was 13 and she was 17. My heart feels heavy and my soul feels empty. I couldn't imagine what I'd feel like after 50 years and I hope for you all the best.

David voice is so amazing! When this song came out my boss at work just died suddenly. He was truly a great man. It was so heartbreaking. We had a gathering to remember him at the baseball field he would coach at. He use to play pro baseball back in the day and we felt holding that gathering there was fitting. I played this song in honor of him. Beautiful beautiful song

This amazing song called Hold on to Memories by Disturbed will now and forever be played on today, the anniversary of my brother’s passing and on December 2 for my dad (17 years gone). It is elegant, and uplifting and speaks to my heart. If you have ever lost a loved one, you should give it a listen. Love you and miss you terribly Steve. ❤️💔 And thank you to the band for such an amazing song to help us through the tough days.

I'm a 52 yr old woman & I still call my father daddy too. When I was a little girl I ( before my baby sister was born) I called my bad by his given name. He crouched down my to my level; wrapped his arms around me. His eyes sparkled with tears threatening spill over. I still remember how thick his rich baritone voice saw w/ emotion; as he held me toght. "No,no sweetheart; you are the ONLYperdon in this whole wide world that can call my daddy. Anybody can call me Tom. Never forget that I am your daddy"! @ that moment in the quiet recesses of my heart I promised the universe would always call him daddy. And I have!

I'm coming up on 10 years since my wife died. I don't how it's been 10 years. God I loved that woman. She lit a fire in my heart I had never felt and haven't felt since. Becoming a widower at 37 was not how I thought things would work out for me. Living my life without her hasn't been easy. I love you Erin. I miss you every single day.

Often, performances with raw, uncorrected vocals are disliked because people are used to the clean, pitch corrected album versions. In reality, all singers get pitchy and lose key slightly, especially a singer like David, who has a lot of vibrato in his voice. Those who don’t understand this are very critical of uncorrected performances.

We never know when our end will come. So take time out of your day to spend with loved ones. Wether it be friends, family, your significant other, anyone who has made an impact on your life. Because it's those memories that last and make your life memorable
