Thanks for the in depth review - you probably just saved me wasting my money. I was about to pull the trigger on this monitor, but seeing no Nvidia G-Sync over Display Port is a total no go item for me. Surely Acer have to resolve this in a firmware update.

Great review! I have a question regarding the size, if the stand is all the way back against the wall, how far away from the wall is the actual panel? I'm considering this monitor but I'm not sure it will fit on my desk because if a bulky stand. Thakns!

In the settings menu there is a option called usb select to select which usb upstream you want to activate usb-b or usb-c. That takes care of the peripherals like mouse and keyboard. The video input you have to select separately.

That's right, I pretty much always suggest DP over HDMI but in this case HDMI is actually very versatile.

Ok, not just a FW menu. The service menu is what i searched for. When powering on, hold power and left most button, when desktop arrives release power and continue pressing left most for a short while and quick release and press it again, then an should show in left upper corner of osd menu, press again and in left upper corner of the screen the Service Menu appears. There is FW version shown. 🙂

I recently bought a 31.5 Acer with 1440p resolution, 165hz IPS model. Nitro XV322QU P, to be exact. Figured 270 euros was a decent price for one. To be honest, many of the same things apply to it, based on what you said. HDR mode looks pretty similar, about ~410 nits brightness and it's 8 bit with FRC panel that can emulate 10 bit mode at max. For example, it has similar small light bleed spots on bottom center. Bezel design is similar, so perhaps it's just a quirk of that kind of bezel build at the factory? Firmware has couple quirks as well. This particular model has locked 30% brightness on sRGB mode, but you can kind of trick the monitor to run at 70% or 100% brighteness as well by playing around with HDR setting, by first enabling it, then switching to sRGB which puts brightness to 30% and then flipping HDR off, which then keeps sRGB on but sets brightness to 70%. Also, you can change brightness in factory setting menu, but I'm not going to change those settings, even though the monitor is reporting it has EDID write protection setting and its on by default. Another one is that at least with DP 1.4 cable, using VRB feature the monitor is locked using "Extreme" overdrive, which has visible inverse ghosting. It would be much better on normal, where there is very little regular or inverse ghosting to be seen. Also, VRB is limited to 80-100-120hz range. All that said, I really can't complain much given the price I got it with. Just IMO, but these Predator models feel little bit overpriced compared to Nitros and other bit more "regular" models Acer sells. You're not getting much extra outside of fancy lights in many cases.

No dead pixels, Colors on the HDR setting are amazing, I'm running a MacBook and a PS5 on it right now, but I'll be getting a PC soon. Frames are consistent 0 tearing. Ive only been able to do 120 because of their PS5 but at 4k looks great and hasn't been dropping at all. The menu was a little weird at first but I got used to it easy. Definitely would recommend especially at that price point@@1nvd
