If you have the chance (and u care), I'd recommend going into a shop and checking out the picture quality of the monitors. You will be spending some time in front of it and it might be worth getting one that looks good in your eyes while its specs are slightly lower or different from what u expected or compared to others. I think quality is the most important factor.

Hey, could you maybe test the Xiaomi G Pro 27i? It is in the same price class as the AOC but has a mini LED IPS panel with 1152 local dimming zones. Maybe this can deliver the best of both worlds for gaming and movie watching?

I actually opened the comment section to ask if this monitor could be tested. I recently bought the G Pro 27i for 360 USD and I am more than happy with my purchase. I use the single monitor mainly for gaming but for content consumption as well. I can confidently say that in its category of 27 inch mini led displays, I don’t think there is a better display in terms of picture quality. It’s amazing! It can get really bright while maintaining the really deep blacks thanks to the huge number of dimming zones. Of course you can expect some blooming, especially when you have the local dimming set to max. It’s a lot better when you switch it to medium or low settings. The earlier monitor I had was an ASUS 1440p VA panel with HDR10, and now that I have this monitor, I can say that everyone saying no other HDR rating is comparable to HDR1000 is 100% right! It’s especially good for playing games like God of War with HDR enabled. Out of the box at least to my eyes the colours are pretty accurate as well. Apart from that since it’s an IPS mini led panel, it’s great for competitive gaming as well, and it does really great on the UFO test as well, thanks to the 180Hz refresh rate. And aside from all of that it’s a good looking monitor on the desk as well, with a clean looking adjustable stand and an RGB LED halo on the back to give a bit of an ambience. I bought this monitor after doing research to buy a new one for 3 months, and I honestly don’t think I could’ve made a better decision, and for the price I couldn’t recommend another monitor. But of course you have to consider there’s a few drawbacks such as there being no in built speakers, and no USB ports, although that has never been an issue for me. If you do plan to buy one though I would recommend that you make sure you’re able to get warranty on it and make sure you can return it for another unit in case of any issues. I’ve read on some Reddit posts that some units have onboard software issues causing colour problems and some settings to not work as intended. And these are things that probably can’t be fixed with an update or anything since it doesn’t have any USB ports. I hope this helps! I would really love to see this channel doing a review on the G Pro 27i

@@ismailhussainrasheed6564 Hey man, whats the firmware version of the monitor? I am also eyeing this monitor, as this is the only mini-led monitor available here, priced really good, and other oled monitors are more than 2-3x the price. As I mainly use my PC for work and also gaming, how is text clarity? or how bad is mouse haloing with local dimming on, as toggling that every time I game would be a hassle. Also how is VRR flicker on this? the AOC one has terrible flicker and most recommend not to use VRR unless you are always hitting high FPS.

@@qkeptz Hey, I can share some of my experience of using this model of AOC. If I understand smearing effect wright, it is one of the reasons I sold this monitor after few weeks of using it. Higher fps - less noticable smearing. I played God of War 2018 on rtx 3080, and if fps is lower than 90, smearing is pretty noticable and interrupting. Horror game - "Still wakes the deep" has the same effect. I never turned off "Motion blur" in videogames settings on IPS monitor, until I got this AOC. It helps a bit, but not so much. When playing "The Finals" with 100+ fps - everything is okay, and no noticable smearing. So GPU is a big thing with this monitor on my opinion. Also I can tell that very few reviews mentions that this monitor have very audible coil whine(yes, just like gpus). The sound of it can get softer if set monitor on 120hz or lower, but it wont go away completely. Last reason for me to sell was that I noticed eyes strain with using this monitor, even on srgb color space. Using HDR had made eyes strain thing even worse.

And I subscribed to this channel within a week, which I had forgot lol. I might buy the Acer as it's available on Amazon in my country for 210€ which is 20€ cheaper than the Asus. There was a reddit post of Acer not having good quality on their products so I'll have to look into that one. If anyone has been using either the Asus or Acer monitor would gladly hear your experiences of it. Thank you so much for this review!

When talking about gaming monitor, there is also the fact that you can play games that don't requires very fast response time. If you like games likes Valheim or Baldur's gate 3, having a slower VA panel won't be such an issue. It's really only if you want to be competitive in specific fast paced games.

I wish I could find a good quality video that actually shows the dark level smearing of VA panels in a real scenario in gaming rather than just the UFO test. The UFO test is great at showing worst-case, but it also doesn't really tell me how much I would notice smearing in a game. That AOC seems great but this is an area where I have no idea if that smearing would bother me or not.

I have the AOC. In case you didn't know, the AOC panel is a Quantum dot HVA (high VA / fast VA) manufactured by TCL, which has acquired Samsung's VA panel division and technology (those used in the Neo G8 for example) once Samsung decided to replace the new models of the Odyssey line with OLED panels. So the black smearing, is it noticeable? Yes, but very little and only for office tasks. In games it is not noticeable, and I am a casual, non-competitive gamer, the clarity of movement and input lag are more than perfect for my necessities.

I hate to critique you, but you show three different screen shots of each that make up one single view. The lighting can be different and I'd like to see the same screens shots for a better more accurate idea. You also sorta insult others and how they choose what they did. I've bought a few items reviews raved over that weren't worth keeping. You guys make money on these vids somehow like you can sell the stuff they send you to review without paying any money. The concern was you didn't try to adjust each monitor, and even TVs need calibrating when new..

There is a good reason for That.... The métod used by Monitor Unboxed is too strict, too much actually. They start the medition at 3% of the transition and ended also at 3%... So they cover more of the transition... But there is a problem... This monitor has a backlight That has bright variations, so the sensor captures That info, and That info cause noise errors, so if a good denoising is not doing well enought you get wrong data. On Rtings you can see all the data, and the way That they denoise the data, they said this monitor is 4.5ms avg and the slowest transition at 13ms... Since the MU does not provide all the data, I believe in Rtings (actually they uses 3RGB so more strict That Techless)

Hey! May I ask some questions? I currently have a pretty bad VA panel which I wanna upgrade. Mine has really bad smearing when scrolling through dark websites. Does the AOC also experience this? And how are the viewing angles? Is it bad or not really too noticable?
@vaxisme

@Zodfi-vl1oq No smearing on mine and i dont care about view angles since i sit infront of it and its just for my use. So i cant really say. Recommend checking Monitors Unboxed channels review for in depth review.

Test vg271um3, it's same as xv272uv3 in specs and price here in india.. which I bought last month, it's mostly excellent in motion and clarity but at around 40fps and lower it judders horribly.

@@GameplayUnboxed Bro, you might have to upgrade your pc or purchase a higher spec one as a high refresh rate 1440p monitor such as this is not ideal if you are getting such low fps... You may alternatively settle with a lower resolution 1080p monitor for now, so that you may have higher fps.

Decent Choice for a Monitor :); you can't find more value than this.........., now-a-days WCG (including color depth), static/native contrast ratio (> 1000:1) and higher frame rates (>75Hz) matters. MSI G274QPF E2 27 Inch WQHD, Dell UltraSharp 27 Thunderbolt Hub Monitor - U2724DE, GIGABYTE M27Q & Acer's XZ396QU, Nitro XV275U P3 27 Inch VA WQHD 384 Zone Mini LED Gaming Monitor, values more than this one, & I would highly recommend them :)

Will you check out the NEW KTC H25T7 (25" and $100-90)?... On paper it appears to be a much better version of the KTC H24T09P you already recommended and there is basically no content (in English) about it, the little content there is just talks about how good it is but they appear to be superficial reviews, there are only a few technical tests but they are in Chinese and Japanese (Still the little you can understand from the videos is that the monitor is great for the price) so basically 0 content, probably because it is a fairly new model (2024).

I just ordered that Acer monitor. I play CS2, Valorant, watch anime and work in 3D Environment. So the response time and color accuracy is great for me and anime is 16:9 anyway so no annoying black border. Cost me only $160 (13500 INR) (Edit) Arrived today. Display is insane for its price after calibrating. The first thing I noticed is panel black border. They are THICCC.
