@@lisachlastawa5105 It pissed off a lot of people that three of the jurors voted to spare Cruz's life due to falling hook, line and sinker for the sob story put forth by the defense of how poor little Nikolas Cruz shouldn't be executed because of his lifelong history of mental health issues. Of course following this trial; Florida governor Ron DeSantis overruled the 2016 decision by the Florida Supreme Court that required a unanimous jury in Death Penalty cases and allowed for majority rule as a means of preventing so-called "activist jurors" from being able to lie their way onto the jury in a Death Penalty trial and allow monsters like Nikolas Cruz to get away with murder. Though you have people like Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman who were singing high praises of the jurors who voted to spare Cruz's life and calling Judge Elizabeth Scherer a monstrous diva. Though I hope the Lifetime network never makes a movie on the Parkland tragedy out of respect for the families of the victims; I could easily see Judge Scherer being portrayed by either Kristin Davis (Charlotte on "Sex and the City") or Constance Marie (George Lopez's on-screen wife Angie on the George Lopez show.) I only stated that the Lifetime network would have made a movie on the Parkland tragedy as they have the ability to make "ripped from the headlines" true crime movies down to a science.

The fact that she sacrificed giving up being a judge to not put the families through another trial is absolutely selfless and really is a testament to her character. She could have fought it and she probably (and rightfully) would have won in the end. I'm even more impressed with her now after watching this than I was from how she handled the trial.

I love hearing her speak! And the fact that she chose not to contest to prevent the families from going through another trial shows how much she cares. That case was a case like any other! Emotions were everywhere! Games were played during the trial! The disrespect was HIGH! She’s human and she handled the best way she could! If she did so great, why did the hire a pellet court? Tell her your attitude towards the public. Defender's office was atrocious and unprofessional. And at this point you can either step down. Or you can be fired. So obviously she stepped down good judges. Don't step down when they get beat by a bunch of low level public defenders. She's just a spoiled little brat who didn't get her way on this one. And she thought Dylan Cruz was gonna have incompetent counsel and he didn't and she was mad about it. Not to mention the jurors couldn't stand the families. They were unlikable they didn't want Justice. They just wanted blood and the jury knew it. I heard that cellphone call she’s talking about and it’s as horrifying as she said it is. I was cleaning and had the trial on in the background. It played during the trial and I ran to turn it off. I had to sit and I couldn’t stop crying. I have ptsd and I promise you all those parents, students, victims, witnesses, etc. all went home and had panic attacks or meltdowns, or whatever. There’s no question about it.

I have the utmost respect for Former Judge Scherer. She handled a brutally tough case with respect, class and strength. I watched every single day and not once did she show “favoritism “! She dealt with a team of immature, unprofessional, extremely disrespectful and disgusting defense attorneys. The needed to be addressed, and she did so. I'm a trial lawyer. I would have been perfectly fine if Cruz got the death penalty if SHE was not on the bench. I don't see the dp as much of a deterrent as most of those animals expect their lives to end during the rampage anyways, but I digress...Her punishment was NOT about Cruz or the people he murdered. Justice is supposed to be blind. She didn't merely put her thumb on the scale. She stood on the scale like a bathroom scale and brought dumb bells with her. Rooting for an outcome, and cheering on biased refs is fine and dandy until it is YOU sitting at one of the tables in the courtroom and the judge has it out for you. It doesn't have to be a capital murder case. It could be about custody of your children, someone that injured you and is trying to escape liability, someone screwing you over in a contract, the government trying to put you in jail with out due process, anything. If judges like Liz Scherer are what the people want, we might as well adopt the North Korean or Iranian system of "justice". (Also, she would have lost decisively on her appeal. It was not about the families. If they liked her so much they would have gladly supported her appeal. She didn;t appeal because she acted inappropriately on numerous occasions. She was toast. The decision would have been made by lawyers, not commenters under You Tube videos)

The female judge Mrs. Elizabeth Scherer has shown so much compassion for the victims relatives and even she gave an unforgettable example of humanity by not sentencing that monster to death! She never will wake up in the middle of the night becoming aware that she might have become guilty to announce a state sanctioned killing. There's no effect on capital punishment. The records show that the death penalty never ever lowered/decreased the crime rates in this nation. The society needs access for everybody to eduction. So people learn how to defend themselves with words instead of becoming physically violent to each other if an argument might occur. It's time to change the bill of rights according to the legal possession of owning and buying weapons wich are able to kill people. She is a very smart attorney assigned as a young judge to a heinous and senseless mass murder case. I am a retired attorney and I watched that trial live on a regular basis. I thought that she was fair and deliberate. Given the pressure, the extraordinarily long trial with all of the gruesome testimony, and unwarranted attacks, she did a remarkable job. The 17th Circuit lost an excellent judge. John Kelley

The law lost a good judge but the way the courtrooms are working atm think she is better off not sitting as a judge with jurors being investigated after a sentence and jurors not living up to giving the dp when it is required. Best wishes for her in the future

She was a disgrace. It’s possible that she caused jurors to be more sympathetic to that idiot defendant because she showed so much bias towards the prosecution.The only favorable thing I can say for her is that her hair and makeup were on point for Court TV everyday. There’s nothing wrong with showing sympathy to the victims. However, a rational judge invites them back to her chambers in private, not in public. .

The other women didn’t like her because she’s pretty.. typical jealous women behavior.. I happen to think she’s a wonderful judge and has a good heart ❤

Sorry ladies that really has absolutely nothing to do with it and to even suggest something proves how narcissistic pretty women can be However the fact that she basically fails in a courtroom setting she cannot remain unbiased and that was clear to anybody that has basic Psychology 101 okay all right she's a danger in this field she does not know how to preside righteously so she is a danger to every defendant in this country and to our justice department that's why she was asked to step down it's not for everybody ladies and that's the truth of it it really has nothing to do with the fact that she's very pretty that's very narcissistic of you women to think that though it's not always about you it may be about the way you can structure mannerisms... that's for sure🤣💯💯💯💯💯 goodbye I could have told you she would have never made it after this one trial I could have told you all that

@@KourtneeMonroe because he's the client do you understand how the courtrooms work apparently you women do not my family is employed for the Department of Justice okay it's not about your feeling liberal ladies they're there to uphold the law that's all it's about once you start taking it out personally on the defendant that's when you cannot work in that environment anymore that's why she was asked to step down instead of being removed which is even more embarrassing some people just can't cut the mustard and you're not going to last too long in there💯👍🤣
