Wonderful film and badly needed to overcome the level of denial about dairy in India. A couple of points that are troubling. A medical doctor glosses over the health effects of animal food consumption. He seems more concerned about the animals than about people. Of course harming, abusing, and killing animals is wrong, but how wrong would it be if it were necessary for optimal human health. The question of necessity is critical in making a moral judgement about the rights of an animal. We deem it appropriate to lock up a criminal who does harm weighing the punishment against the severity of the crime, even to the point of execution. It must be understood, especially by medical professionals, that not only is animal food unnecessary for most humans, it is harmful, very harmful, and therefore there is no justification to breed, torture, rape and murder, merely for an optional palate preference. The other point that makes no sence to me was the question of the dairy industry getting the message of ethics or morality. It's profoundly naive to ask any capitalist to consider morality above profit. Does she think they don't know what they're doing and why? The focus has got to be to stop buying what they're selling. To understand how unhealthy it is, how painful it is, how environmentally unsustainable it is, how wrong it is for so many different reasons, that it is no longer even a question.
