Pls explain if you actually know why this happened. Also, it’s a bit weird that KZbin assumes that it’s below zero, even when it clearly isn’t.

It is genuinely amazing to me how a game with so many significant bugs is still so good. Then again we also have Oblivion and Skyrim so (shrug)

Cyclops think, that you want to dock your seamoth (sorry if i spelled that wrong). But you don't want, so you left seamoth. However, beacuse you left it so close, the door can not finish closing animation, beacuse most base-related animations are physics-related. That means, if you want to close most doors (that are open/close without player interactions) you have yo make space for them to close. So, if door are open, why you can walk there? Beacuse, even that door aren't close, game thinks that they are. Thery is no fail-check for that. So, beacuse door are "close" game loads collisions and let you open doors. So, i hope that i mange to help c:

Since I haven't seen anyone make a very in-depth explanation, (no offense @scdminecraft3958 but the explanation is a little strange, hard to read and I believe just incorrect,) I'll try to explain this in proper terms! In games there is many layers to how things work. The Cyclops is an Entity that uses two Models, an Interior and an Exterior. These two models come together and look like one big ship. But these are just _meshes,_ a visual layer. The layer we need to talk about is the _collision,_ which works independently of the model. The collision is made to fit the model, but only when the bay hatch is closed. Then, when a prawn or seamoth gets close, The Cyclops is told to enable the Docking Hitbox (what causes the docking animation) and to open the bay hatches to The Cyclops (which make it so you aren't phasing through The Cyclops' model when you dock!) But the thing is, the collision isn't changed at all. They couldn't physically make the Cyclops _do that_ because while the Moonpool is stationary, The Cyclops' movement could crash the game with so many checks and balances for water physics. It would just be a programming nightmare, especially with how funky the water programming already is. Since the collision never moves, it's always like the bay hatches are closed, meaning you can walk across non-existent closed hatches. The _real_ bug is the fact they don't lock the doors _in_ the Cyclops to prevent you from just walking into there while the bay hatches are open lol.

Your explanation made more sense. The animation of the dock opening makes the doors to the sides close automatically to give that sense of realism so the cyclops doesn't "sink". But as you said, you can still open the doors and access the area even when the dock is exposed like that. That is the real problem here.

It isn’t hardcore, and it got fixed when I put new cells in but it was a bit scary at the time.

The better reason why then the other guy said is The developers didnt expect you to park a vehicle under the cyclops to leave the door open and go inside the cyclops.

My cyclops is a nuclear powered moving base. I have everything from med bay, lockers, crafting, gardens for food. My base is also outside 80% of the water so no need for oxygen etc. I love my life there so much I'm refusing to leave.
