And they save soooo much money!! My mom even braids her own hair. So luckily for me and my sister she did our hair growing up, but then got arthritis from the work she did at her job. Now I have to pay people, but I'm going to try to learn myself. Even if I only learn to do bigger braids idc. I wanna save money lol

These hairstyles ate beautiful. I have a question. Protective style is to "protect" your natural hair, right? Wouldn't really long, heavy braids; especially if done tight, be damaging as well?
@fleebee41152 жыл бұрын
Honestly yes, it’s damaging. Protective styles used to specifically be braids/twists/buns with no extensions used. Wigs changed the game and now almost every style is considered “protective”.

Dear precious one, please repeat after me with your whole heart, "Father God, I'm a sinner and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe in the Good News that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that You resurrected Him from the dead in order to restore my relationship with You. Through my belief and faith in Jesus death, burial and resurrection, I am saved. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord from this day forward. Please guide my life and help me do Your will, Your way through the Holy Spirit. This I pray in the powerful, loving and glorious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Amen!" 🙏 Dear friend, may Father God our Creator, through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and The Holy Spirit bless you, lead you, guide you and keep you in His abundantly loving care now and for all eternity! @kartelgreen52872 жыл бұрын
@@shay4941 definitely not white...I bet you were wishing that was the case🤣...I just have common sense...a protective style is protective when done with your own hair but once all the hair is added to braid these long heavy braids it starts to pull expecially in the front breaking the hair...meaning those styles are doing nothing to protect the hair...

@PrincessYonna12 жыл бұрын
@@vintagefiasco2271 okay but everyone hair is different, most black girls grow their hair faster when they get these styles because their hair is put away. Just because it’s not protective for you or u don’t need it to grow your hair doesn’t mean it doesn’t apply for other black women and girls. Me personally, crochet braids grows my hair the fastest, if I wear my natural hair a whole year I won’t see that much length retained. These styles are said to protective because they help retain the length, that’s not to say our hair doesn’t grow, but we see length faster when our hair is put away for some time because it’s not being manipulated for an amount of time.
