Polish pilots in Britain also used to fly lancasters. Same with hurricanes. The germans said they were more afraid of the Poles than British pilots

A lot of people wish for a minifig scale b-17 or Lancaster. Allow me to say it's not going to be possible and if it is it'll be bigger than a UCS falcon. I spoke before with Chad Snyder. The wings wouldn't be able to hold themselves up under the weight of the plastic. It'd be awesome sure to have a minifig scale bomber. But for now that just won't happen. Sorry bros.

@LoremasterGoddess I don't buy it. I've done the math, and your argument just does not add up. This model is at 1:48 scale, which is not far off from minifigure "scale". The quotation marks are there because minifigure scale is somewhat loose, due to the fact that minifigures have nowhere near realistic human proportions, and different assumptions you make. The scale can range from about 1:38 to 1:42 scale. For the purposes of my calculations, I chose the scale of 3 studs equals 1 meter, which is about 1:41 scale. Going by this scale, a properly sized Lancaster would be 50.71 cm long, or about 64 studs. The wingspan would be 74.62 centimeters, about 93 studs. This existing set is already 45 cm long with a 64.5 cm wingspan, or about 56 studs long with an about 80 stud wingspan. So, a properly minifig scale version would only be 5 centimeters longer, with a wing span only 10 centimeters wider. I do not see any real engineering or space issues because of this relatively small change in dimensions. And, even assuming for sake of argument that this upscale doubles the part count, from 1,747 parts, to 3,494 parts, that is still well within the size of sets that Cobi has put out. Same goes for price. After all, Cobi has put out an 8000 piece Tiger 1 tank set that cost like $600. $260 for a fully detailed minifig scale bomber does not seem like that tough of a sell in comparison. The real question is, does Cobi see enough of a market to produce a set like this? I'm not sure, but given how iconic the Lancaster and B-17 are, I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility.

It’s very durable 3x stronger than LEGO but a piece count exceeding the dimensions will crumble under its own weight

I have only bought LEGO, but was tempted by the range of military aircraft so made a purchase. Although some of the build techniques are igeniously different, the quality & compatibility are as good as Lego. I have since purchased more. You have nothing to worry about. Enjoy. 🇬🇧

I jest, but given how integral he was to the design of the bomb used in this mission,I would have much preferred a minfig of him versus a generic female officer. But still, this is a nice set. Could you do a Lancaster vs. B-17 comparison, since you have both?
