Missed my cousins wedding cuz hertz gave our family a broken car. The engine was dinky and the tires popped almost immediately and they wouldn't send help for about 3-4 hours when we were 10 miles from the hertz station. They didn't even fix our car, they sent it to a mechanic where we waited even longer.

You don't understand that is a premium car class. It's not in the standard range of economy through full size. There are 5 car classes below the G (premium) class. Rates vary daily according to supply and demand.

The old car rental thing was not honoring reservations. You could reserve a car but they'd give their cars to whoever showed up at the location first with money. If you came there with your reservation and they didn't have any cars, they'd make you wait.

I don't get why/how he was "wronged". It's expensive for whatever reason (maybe there is a shortage and it's on the other side of the country?). There are plenty of other vehicles to rent, and he wasnt forced to rent that model.

***** Being such a long time member of Hertz, it's reasonable to conclude that he would want to help the company he utilizes the services of so frequently. The wronging of Ross came from when all of Hertz' reps basically told Ross to shove off. It has nothing to do with the hypothetical situation in which he'd have to rent that car.
