That was one of the most bitter moments of the whole series for an Astros fan like me. I was so pissed off that Dye was awarded first base after the ball clearly hit his bat, but we laid up a juicy fastball for Kenerko to launch over the left field wall so it was overall shit for us lol. I was in fifth grade during this series and it was such a crushing blow to not win one game! Great series, though.

I just saw a post by mlb on twitter comparing the Red Sox and Cubs ending their World Series droughts, and they didn’t bring up the Sox for whatever reason, and even myself as a Cubs fan am shocked that so few people remember that season. Like so many people remember the 1986 and 1969 Mets and they’re the less popular team in New York

@Otávio Ferreira And now the White Sox are a Mediocre Club. Good. Gullien was a Sleazeball. The 2005 White Sox were able to buy the 2005 WS. The Empires made HORRIBLE calls too. Crowns back then were often "BRIBED" Brought by Bud Selig. He'd Already rig and set the World Series by Post Season. Once a Team was profitable with wins, the WS was already decided by the End of the Regular Season. Usually 6 weeks before the Series. Selig Already Selected the White Sox. Basically, World Series until that Jackass Retired, were Brought, Bribed, Paid FOR and Illegitimately won. The White Sox are paying their dues for this Bribery. By sucking ass as a Mediocre Club that FAILS yearly in the AL Central. And I say that as a Giants fan.

As a 12 yr old kid; this broke my heart to see my team get swept and we all had to watch the Astros get worse and worse every year for 10 yrs until we finally made it back in 2017. I cried when we won. We're gonna go back and win it all again.

Better yet was game 3 when Buck & mccarver just gushed over oswalt. Then AJ pounds an oswalt slider to Tals hill scoring the men on to tie the game. Dead silence from buck & mccarver were the best announcing of the entire series!

Much respect to Houston but there wasn't a damn thing they could do. The Sox had everything going clutch hitting, defense, dominant pitching, a little luck and destiny. There aren't many teams in MLB history that could've beat them that October.

2005 White Sox controversial calls that went their way during postseason: Blown strike call vs angels Missed catchers interference vs angels Missed pickoff that was called safe vs angels Blown hit by pitch when it should have been a foul ball vs Astros Yes this team was great but do you think if these calls were made right would had changed the series?

This is my favorite single sporting event of all time. There's are only 3 teams I cheer for - White Sox, Cubs, Blackhawks. Up until this game, I never believed any of them would ever win anything. None of them ever really got all that close in my lifetime. I had had my heart broken over and over again. And this team almost collpased after a 15 game lead too. And then....Konerko's slam. And for the first time, I believed it was possible thst one of my teams could actually win. Little did I know them thst all 3 would win over the next 11 years
