Hi Carrie,. I love your videos and am very happy that you are putting out content again.on a regular basis. Have watched your videos off and on for a while. I am Vision Impaired also. I have used both a Macbook and a PC. I have a Macbook Air as I like to Travel when possible again and use a PC at home. I find using magnification easy to use on both platforms and a screen reader on a PC I think can work better. For example if reading a document on a Mac you have to use Pages to read it as I don't think it works well or at all in Microsoft Word on a Mac as one example. I think Voice Over works well on the iPhone and iPad over Talkback but because of price and only has Face Id which doesn't work well as I have quite a bit of Vision and hold the phone up to my face and at a distance it does not unlock and I have to put in a pin code almost everytime. So all that said I may use a Google Pixel phone exclusively or other more stock Android Phone in the near future. I have the iPhone SE 2 the phone screen is small and more than the Pixel 4a which I also currently use. I have some older phones I need to sell. I have been using an iPhone since the 3GS but as I mentioned moving away from the iPhone and other apple products because of price and I don't like the direction Apple is going in, in terms of being less accessible as with the newer iPhones and iPads. I was an Apple fan for years but now less so! Great informative video

Hey there! Nice to meet you Aaron. I really think both are a great option and whatever is best for a person is what they should use. I lov love the idea of having access to both, though the apple side is usually more difficult because of its high price, at least for the macs. I watch a lot of KZbinrs who review mainstream tech and my goodness, those macs can get up there! Well, so can PC's if you go higher in capabilities, but not as much as the mac. I haven't been able to use mac, so I really can't attest to how it works, but since you can, I think it's great to have both. I'd love to be in a position to have the best of both worlds! 😊

Great video! I currently use a Blinshell Classic. This video helps a lot in helping choose what do get if/when the Blindshell quits.

hi there! Thanks for watching. The blindshell is a fun phone and I've tried it out, but I still gravitate to pixel. :) haha. Thanks again and take care.

Hello. I wasn't there when your live happened but listened to it today. I currently use a Windows laptop and an Android phone. It's an Asus Zenfone 6 and I love it: headphone jack, double sim+micro SD, 5000 MAh battery (like Moto G8 Power or LG V60), stock-like skin with a few extra features and generally monthly, sometimes bimonthly security updates. I would have to test Face ID on the IPhone at a store or something and see if I can use it with attention mode, which I guess would be hard as I have an ocular prosthesis for the right eye and had heavy surgery on the left due to an osteosarcoma. If I can't use Face ID with attention mode enabled, there's no way I'm switching to an IPhone, unless they eventually use a side mounted fingerprint sensor like on some IPads, or even an under-screen one. As for Android I feel like I may try a Samsung for my next switch. I use Samsung Internet over Chrome on my current device, and prefer it due to controls being at the bottom instead of at the top like Chrome. As I understand, OneUI is mostly designed like that so I may very well prefer it to stock Android in that regard, plus I want something more feature-rich. Finally, I just wanted to say that even if IOS has it's bad updates, Android does have some questionable updates too, and the worst part is they are not necessarily system updates or even buggy per se. Case in point, the new way G-Board interacts with Talkback which was pushed recently and that I really despize for the most part. Have a nice day!

Hi there! Thanks for watching. Yes, they both have their pros and their cons and I'm just glad that they can both compete against each other and hopefully continue pushing accessibility forward. :)

Edge has been a bit frustrating as I try to make it be as smooth as my older windows desktops. I feel like that about the sun frequently, :) I'm using regular iPhone 6. It has the home button. I do like that button. I need to change its battery soon. It is still holding on, but not staying as charged long as I would like in the grocery store. I was still using my iPhone 4 at the same time with a few of its older apps that were great but still not updated to use with the current iOS on iPhone 6. A strange boot problem just started last week with my iPhone 4. I suspect it needs a battery as well. Its battery has had a long run. Ten years! I do remember long ago loving being able to drag and drop things into my CellularOne, with Mobile Speaks on it. The battery door on it wasn't very sturdy though. I could put my SIM back into any of those I suppose.

I use Windows and Android but also use an iPad mini. Just discovered 2 things. Edge has a read screen and search with voice and also search with image. And the 2nd thing which I absolutely love regarding Apple is they now have a icon for zooming. 1 finger tap on icon and zoom. So simple. Plus you can move the icon around and change it's color to be able to see it better! LOVE! I hate the zoom on my phone (moto which is horrible) 2 finger swipe up from bottom. Than 1 finger tap...than pinch to zoom. Really? What a pain! So now thinking of switching to iPhone lol. Can't tell you how many times I've switched back and forth on phones and tablets. But just can't switch to Apple computers. I've tried and personally I just end up feeling claustrophobic with Apple's wall garden.

Hello! I am a guy from Sweden. I've seen this video a couple of times bot I have never thought about commenting untill now. I am blind and the doctors don't know whats going on with my vision. It sems to be my optic nerves becaus my eyes are healthy. I have yellow-tinted glasses and I recive alot of question like why is your text on your technology so small if you are saying that you are visually impaired. That's the reason. It feels to Clumsy to have big text. Also my central vision is okay. Not perfect but the thing I've got is affecting my prerifel. I have tunnel vision, It's So annoying when you think as visual impaired Big boldtext and than there isn't a problem. I can read small amount of text in "normal" size, but I can never read a book or news article no matter how much i zoom or how big the text are. I use text-to-speak (I have Samsung.) Beautiful high contrast screen and for me easier to use and navigate

I definitely understand. People don't understand that blindness is a spectrum and that being visually impaired doesn't always mean we need the same thing!! Samsung is a great choice for phone. 😊 Thanks for watching and I wish you all the best! Happy New year! Carrie.

Hi there Diamond! You can certainly use a Pixel and android phone, but they are 2 totally different platforms and experiences. What makes you want to try android out? Are you happy with the accessibility on Apple? If its something you're happy with and comfortable with, I would continue with that. But if you want to have an android adventure, I would definitely go with pixel.

great video. i have a samsung and plan to switch to a pixel. there are many reasons i don't care for samsung phones anymore, but two that come to mind are all the duplicate apps and the lack of software updates.

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me please. I’m using a samsung phone, the screen reader is on but it doesn’t read to me what’s on the screen. I somehow accidentally muted the speech and I don’t know how to turn it back on again. Please help, thank you.

@@ceruleanblue2661 hi. if using voice assistant, try tapping the screen quickly 4 times using 2 fingers. this toggles the speech on and off. if using talkback, i am not sure how to unmute it.

IOS and MacOS are both proprietary operating systems which means with iOS which ever way Apple wants the icons to be arranged is how IOS is going to be setup they are only recently starting to catch-up Android on the other hand is free as in the user has more control and open source which is why you can customize android to suit your needs

Hi there! So sorry for the delayed response. I'm trying to catch up on comments. A pixel phone is the line of phones that Google itself has designs and sells. I hope that helps. All the best, carrie. **
