Dennis on some fingerpicking pattern diagrams you show an alternative base note on the 4th string and on others it's the 3rd string. Why is this please. Mick Shotton

Good question. When I developed the color-coded scheme (green, red, purple) I changed the pattern for simplicity sake so students could grasp the concept faster, With this pattern, the only thing that's different is downbeat 1, whether the root note is one the 4th, 5th, or 6th string.

@@DennisAnthonis still a little confused because one pattern shows strings:- Base 4 3 base 2 4 3 and another shows Base 3 2 base 1 3 2. Please please explain further.
