Why did I hate biology in college? Must have been how it was presented because this is pretty cool!

I very recently found an interest in this topic and as someone who disliked biology in high school, these videos are absolutely fascinating, insightful and surprisingly easy to follow. You've earned my subscription!

I may have figured out a missing piece to my supplement regiment. I have been using a BCAA + Glutamine supplement combined with Creatine pre and post workout. It was interesting to learn how the BCAA's actually work and that Arginine is a key player in blocking off some of the proteins responsible for muscle degradation. I think I'm going to add an Arginine supplement into the mix and see if that yields more results! Thank you for sharing this information!

Peace bro, what were the results?

I wonder if citrulline will do the same thing instead of taking arginine

Very interesting to know this to improve results! Just one question: in the growth factors, is IGF-1 directly involved in this process when MTor is activated?

Kevin, I’m a person who does intermittent fasting daily, with hopes to achieve some autophagy, will taking HMB supplements interrupted that process? Perhaps one can take within the feeding window and not have an issue while fasting? The goal was to lose the least amount of muscle while fasting. Love to hear your thoughts. Thank you in advance
@jonnyidle Жыл бұрын
Do not take HMB if you want to stimulate autophagy, as the main function of HMB is to inhibit autophagy ie muscle breakdown. Growth hormone will actually increase after around 17 hours of fasting anyway so you should not notice a significant loss of muscle compared to the fat loss you will experience and the other health benefits you will feel.

I was told that MTOR deregulate causing protien synthasis to go down after 4 to 6 weeks of intens weight training so your gains slow way down or stop but if you take a week or 2 off everything gose back where it was is this true
@bradyrude56975 жыл бұрын
Examine.com states that while HMB does have an anitcatabolic effect, it "fails to be more effective than its parent amino acid [luecine] for inducing muscle protein synthesis". Based on this, would you recommend leucine supplementation over HMB for athletes tying to increase lean muscle mass? Thank you for your videos, they are very clear and concise.

Why not just take both

So correct me if Im wrong. You will need HMB+ BCAA/EEAA+Creatin, and some glucose for good measurement? Can you switch out the BCAA/EEAA for some standard Whey-fuel, or whould that be bad?

So is there a saturation effect by ingestion of protein measured out? How much is enough? Or is as more protein and amino acids the more tor is active?

thank you this is good bcs i now understand importance of having enough protein in diet, i notice that my protein powder have much less arginine compared to glutamin and leucin, should i somehow increase arginine with certain foods?

Arginine is a non essential AA which means our body produces it naturally :)
@МилорадЈеремић214 жыл бұрын
@@januslee2556 oh thanks ill remember that, but little bit more shouldn't be bad right?
@januslee25564 жыл бұрын
@@МилорадЈеремић21 should not be an issue? I mean meats and eggs have all essential AA but they have the non essential in them too. It is just not reported since it is non-essenstial
@januslee25564 жыл бұрын
I should also add that by non-essential, it refers to when you have a healthy body. During times of stress or illness, you might need more.
