I think the Lexus IS naturally aspirated V8 sounds better....kinda of a beauty (exterior) and the beast(mechanical/under the hood) thing going on with this Lexus.

It's a tie, the Lexus has that V8 growl (but also the wheel spin lol), while the Acura has the turbo crackles and pops.

Tuning is the crackle and pop. It’s technically a misfire. The only pops and bangs my Audi has is from the exhaust pipe heating up, and y burnt fuel building up by my tips when down shifting or high rpm down shifts. If I didn’t want it I’d lean my tune out.

No contest. Any NA V8 always wins. Though, I'm glad Acura went with a 6 cyl, rather than a turbo 4. Glad they brought back the type S. I loved the 3rd gen TL, esp with a stick.

Idk it sounds like a tie to me. The way that Lexus V8 bounces off the rev limiter just gives me goosebumps. But on the other hand, even though turbos are out of character for Honda/Acura, Those crackle and pops are just perfection - especially for an un-modded car.

IMO the Type S sounded better. It Sounds deeper and more aggressive and on throttle the Type S sounded better. It seems the exhaust is tuned better.

Unpopular opinion but I can definitely understand your point of view. I agree that the Type S is more aggressive as well and is more dramatic. The IS500 is just Typical V8, nothing extraordinary but still hard to beat a V8

Not necessarily. The Lexus v8 is just typical Lexus v8, nothing special about it like say a Shelby GT350. The Type S has one of the best V6 exhaust notes on the market today, sounds very aggressive and it pops on every shift in sport mode. So it’s close, but the Lexus v8 slightly edged out the Type S.

@@drivescene6747 That is not just any normal V8. It's a hand built, quick revving and offers a pretty high redline around 7,400rpm with max torque being near 5,000rpm. I think it's a little disingenuous to refer to it as pretty typical.

@@alexarmani9209 Doubtful it will be the last, dodge will keep making it most likely in some configuration, and lexus actually has plans to continue to make more F models with the same v8 and then they're modifying the v8 to run on hydrogen instead of gas but still retain the engine characteristics so that will be interesting to see in a decade or two
