Nice one. This video shows, why vibration is a cable killer. The construcktion of this electrical part is a bit poor. The can do better. You can make the calbe fittings without sharp edges. The connections straight in line and not 90° offset will make it more safe too. And as a german electrician, I say you do a great job with electric and you show a lot of people how it is made safe and resonsible.

We had exhaust fans that were installed when the buildings were built in 1966 that were still in use in 2016 when I retired. Put a new belt on every 2 years and lubed the motor and I replaced the pillow block bearings in 2009. Still running on the original motor and it runs constantly. That was for the bathrooms so not all that grease.

That first one was a clear case of 'Oh the fan is tripping? Do we A, work out why its tripping and fix it? Actually reminds me of a friend who too the earth wire off a device because it kept tripping the RCD without any idea about why i was tripping.

Good safety tips, look for electrical faults first then start turning things on. something like a grommet would help keep the wires from rubbing on sharpish metal. It appears to my thinking, normally wrong, that the air flow off the exhaust fan wouldn't be past the motor. That would be pulling greasy and smokey exhaust past electrical equipment. The first Ex.Fan was a total mess.

Just had a service call with exhaust fan going on then off motor super hot!! off on overload, once cooled, reset run for little time then off. Belt tension was too tight causing over work. I have adjusted the tension and have been running well; no issues since.

@zspacecaptain82283 жыл бұрын
It sounds like a stuck motor that its cutting out from overheat. Try opening it up and checking if anything is jamming it. Vacuuming inside the vent covers probably won't help, but you should do it every few years or so. If the motor has a starting/running capacitor it may be bad, but the only way to check it is to either change it or use a meter. If none of that helps you may need a new motor.

To be exact in the united states a "motor starter" consists of 2 parts the contactor and the thermal overload, this can be in 1 component or like in this video separate components, the thermal overload had been removed with the contactor remaining here.
